Our Rotation Problem

Let me start off by saying, this assumption is premature as our team has been bi-polar but in the event we are finally starting to see our squad at 100% strength we have a rotation problem.
SJ has been playing really really well, and its more than "making shots", he's play making offensively, his shots are falling, and defensively he's probably been our best player on the court since KCP went down. He seems to also get players , like baynes, more involved than other guards and forwards.
RB , in a small sample has been working himself back into game shape, but he brings tremendous length, bball iq and according to SVG, our best 3 point shooter.
Leur , who's has taken most of SJ's minutes from last season, provides us a ton of flexibility and defensively is our best PF.
Having said all that, prior to the injuries, Leur was a starter w TH coming off the bench and SJ getting spot minutes. How do we fit SJ, RB and LEur back into the rotation?
One thought, though i think SVG is more oppose to this than most would believe, is that Leur takes more center minutes away from Baynes, and allows SJ to slide into the PF role. What i ideally would like to see, though i don't know if its realistic in terms of players rhythm, and rotations, is for SVG to ride the hot hands. If a bench player is playing better than the starter, then ride the bench player as long as you can and vice versa. Not only will this allow our bench to develop, but it also elevate our teams play in that if you don't "show up to play", your minutes are in jeapordy.

I don't think it'll be that crowded minutes wise, no need to play SJ at the 4. It's essentially a 10 man rotation, with a few guys that can slide between the 2-3 and 3-4. Like you said ride the hot hand, as well as certain defensive matchups, for the 2 - 4
RJ/Ish
KCP/RB/SJ
Morris/SJ/Tobias
Leuer/Tobias/Morris
Drummond/ [Baynes/Boban] / Leuer

When we drafted Stanley I envisioned him as eventually developing into a 3/4. It's unfortunate that our depth at F and lack there of at G forced him into getting so many minutes at SG. Right now I'll be happy if he just gets the bulk of his minutes at SF, but eventually we're gonna need to move one of Mook, Harris or Leuer.
I'll fall back on what I said before, which is that I think we should package Baynes & Mook for a backup 2/3 or perhaps even Ish/Mook for a quality combo-guard.

I think trading Marcus Morris would answer a lot of these problems. With Gay injured, Marcus for Their first is super enticing especially since they are trying to get to the playoffs.

I would LOVE to see SJ get some pt at PF. I think he can do it, might even thrive. Not sure we will see that

SJ is just starting to see some consistent minutes and a defined role. I wouldn't wanna mess with that right now. This is the sorta thing you do in training camp next season.

If Drummond could consistently defend the paint it would matter who plays PF (Morris, Luer, Harris)
110% with Cowology on this one. No way at this point do you even think of putting SJ in a PF role. He is starting to thrive and imo he should be starting SF in the next 5-10 games but as long as we are winning do not fix what isnt broken.
Im really hoping that Ellenson gets stronger this summer because im hoping he is our starting PF next year.

Watch on the plays he tries to. LMK if we get the rebound. That's the biggest problem. When Dre is trying to defend the paint if he doesn't get the block we usually don't get the board. Unless our team starts crashing the boards and they probably should do that anyway, but they don't. I think that might make him timid/think at times. Not sure

I wasn't necessarily saying play him at PF this year, but if he does cool. I just don't think SVG will end up doing it. I think he might of played there last year a total of like 20 minutes maybe?

every team rotates 10 or more players, so SVG needs to adequate himself, no issues.

I'm liking this, it just means Hillard is even less of a chance to play. It's a good news day.
Also pretty sweet having that amount of depth and still having King H waiting in the wings.
*another positive is we won't bat an eyelid when we lose Baynes!!

you guys realize that the pf and sf role in this offense is essentially the same, the difference is who they defend. we won 2 games, lets not act like everything is fixed, if this season is any indication, then we'll probably regress next game. The problem is leur's versaitilty is too important to remove, SJ's offense and defensive versatility is too important to remove and RB shooting and "intangibles" is too good to remove. I wonder with Gasol's injury whether baynes is made available

we are basically a pull-up jump shot team. low assists, low free throws. problem is this, not rotation.

Ah you are correct sir. Weak side rebounding is an issue with this team.

Right offensively it doesnt matter. But as someone reminded me weak side rebounding is a big problem with this team.
Again next year i hope Ellenson is the man to help on both sides of the ball.

SJ as anything but an emergency/special match up PF is absurd.

I like the idea of Leuer playing some center, in matchups where this is possible..
I also think Marcus needs to have his role reduced, that should free up some minutes.

This gets overlooked so much it ain't even funny. People always make reference to rookie/2nd year Dre going after every shot in the paint and no longer doing that anymore. I guess people forget he was playing next to a really good rebounder who was cleaning up the boards on his contests.
