Taking the Board's Temperature: Reggie Jackson for DJ Augustin & Kyle Singler

The OKC Thunder and Orlando Magic are making a trade and they need Detroit's help facilitating it. You have just 5 minutes to decide if you are in or out. It ends with Detroit sending out Reggie Jackson and getting DJ Augustin from Orlando and Kyle Singler from OKC. Do you pull the trigger?

Obviously tonight's game with Ish leading the come back and Reggie not being right all season may sway some opinions.

My personal feeling: Reggie CAN provide much better value than those two as a player, but he is always going to be the leader of a low ceiling team because of his play style. He could be great off the bench, but I don't think his pride allows for that. It didn't allow him to back up one of the best NBA players in the game. Also, the longer we keep him out of important moments, the more he will languish and become toxic. The end of his time in OKC wasn't pretty at all. To be honest, I keep going back and forth on whether I would do it or not. He can be so much better. He should have so much more value than this. But things could go really poorly really quick as well.

So, would you do a quick cut of the cord receiving back equal value that we gave away for him - a trade that the following year we all considered a steal for us?

Lol, DJ was playing some fairly elite basketball when he was starting with us under SVG. I'd trade Reggie for him in a heartbeat. And (even though I'd probably never want him to play) I've got a soft spot for Kyle Singler and his awful Great Clips haircuts. Sign me up as a Yes!

Yo if you guys want Singler I'm down and I don't even like Reggie. But I'd love to see his face if he were stuck on the bench in OKC again.

PS, fantastic win. You guys know how I feel about the guy but I still like the rest of your team and that was a really awesome comeback!

Send him to Brooklyn for Lin. He deserves to be in basketball hell, and you guys would get a comparable player without the ego issues when Lin is healthy.

I don't want Lin for our board's sake. It was awful the year we had to deal with Iverson fanboys. Lin fanboys probably outnumber the regular Detroit posters.

I would trade Reggie for an expiring contract and a late first rounder. There is zero drop off from Reggie + Ish to Ish + Beno and Beno was cut before the season started and we got him for nothing.

I am down on Reggie with the rest, but he is still better than DJ/Kyle and worth more as an asset in possible trades.

I voted yes, but I think I'll change that. I think we can get better for RJ. Also, what do you think of Ish starting and Reggie coming off the bench? It is a VERY expensive backup but I think it makes the most sense.

I honestly don't think there's any salvaging of Reggie's game on our team. He's still a massive net negative when he's on the court due to his awful defense, poor court vision, and regression (due to injury?). That's why I voted yes. Because if Augustin could play for us how he played when he was starting for SVG (18.6ppg, 7.8 assists, 3TOPG, 44.7 FG%, 40.3 3PT %,94.3 FT%), I think he'd be an extremely valuable starting PG who fits the need for shooting and fast pace. And then we could keep bringing Ish off the bench (we all know DJ's shooting kinda dies when he comes off the bench).

Would you trade Reggie Jackson for DJ Augustin and Kyle Singler?
