Seems like our theory of Drummond being a mental midget and refusing to do what's asked of him is right. Starting to look more and more like SVG the coach is not the problem and SVG the GM has realized what is.

It's also something that San Antonio tried to pluck SJ away...

Sorry for the multiple posts I'm on my phone and this is easier.

From the article:
They needed talent; they would figure out the rest later. The figuring it out part has been harder than expected, especially with both Jackson and Drummond plateauing. Detroit has quietly explored the trade market for each of its franchise centerpieces, according to sources across the league, and come away disappointed with the potential return. (Van Gundy himself has said anyone is available for "the right price.")

Any Drummond deal at the deadline is an extreme long shot, but Jackson remains in play for Minnesota, Orlando, New Orleans, or some mystery destination. Even if Detroit keeps him, missing the playoffs would put dramatic changes on the table this summer.

Lots of great insight. Let us discuss!

i normally like Lowe articles, but it seems he came up with his own opinion and then inserted quotes out of context to support it. It reads like my high school research papers where i pulled reference and sources out of whatever i could find. He apparently knows what happen in the close door meeting and takes quotes from a open Dre, but then in another quote seems like Dre wants to keep things in house. He says Dre plateau'd but then refers to his potential.

i'd be very interested to see where he got the quotes and the response of SVG , DRe and RJ to this article that paints the picture of Detroit as desperate in year 3 of a 5 year plan. Why of all players would we trade harris? The one player that actually puts in the work.

I can't say he's completely wrong as he obviously has more insight, but i article seemed more like he was guessing than actually have intimate knowledge.

Yeah I think Lowe articles usually have a bit more depth. Seems like no one wants to play with Reggie besides his best friend in the world Andre. I wonder if Reggie can win the locker room back.

Don't know what you read but my opinion of the article is: we've discussed all this for ages!

Yeah Zachary puts in nice visual aids but other than that it's the same old stuff.

Shopping RJ, Dre, SJ is a key to the future projection, maybe move Mook or Harris, maybe start Ish, hope to make the playoffs...

ESPN has made Zach lazy cause it seems his research required him reading RealGM

I think it's more so the fact that what everyone here hypothesizes as far as the team is actually really what is going on for the most part. Zach was tweeting out about being in Auburn Hills a few weeks ago so I'm quite sure he really did his research.

This piece is legit. Lowe tweeted about running into people at metro airport. Appeared he was in Detroit 3-5 days working on this article. He's got great access to teams and front offices. I'm sure he learned more info but didn't write it all so the next time he calls SVG, he'll still tell him what's going on.

What up everyone.

I just read the article and my team (Orl) is mentioned. Has Reggie really been that bad for you guys and is he really the ball-stopper he's portrayed as? We've heard about needing an upgrade at PG for a few months now, and I'm seeing the smoke.

the fact that he spent 3-5 days working on this article and thats what he came up with is just goes to show how sh* he's become. If he just wrote his opinion and left all the quotes out, this article may have been more believable, but the out of context quotes to support his claims reads like a RealGM'er's sh* argument. I am sure he has access to teams front office, but doesn't mean he has access to relevant information. Bowers and SVG typically keep things in house, calling NOL or Denver to see if Davis or Jokic are available for Dre but Lowes article is written like we are desperate to offload dre after being dissappointed that our 23 year old center isn't all of a sudden shaq.

The interesting parts to me are actually the quotes from Reggie, Dre and SVG. Nothing really new, but the team being frustrated with Reggie, Dre & SVG both basically saying he's not 100%, but Reggie not being able/willing to adapt.

Reggie has gotta understand that he can't play the way he did last year if he can't do it at the same level and it's hurting the team. It's not about him. Team 1st.

The perception Lowe portrays of the teams view of RJ and watching them at the game is completely opposite. After reading that article he makes it seem as if the team hates RJ and we'd offload Dre if someone just offer us a 1st rounder. Bower called Denver to ask if they'd trade Jokic for Dre, they said no, Lowes assessment, SVG is shopping Dre. As i said, if he left the quotes out, it be a better article, adding the quotes read like a realgm'er trying to make his reaching argument.

The reaction of RJ, SVG and Dre will ultimately determine how valid this piece is

I thought the portrayal of SVG vs Dre being best buds of Gores was entertaining

Sounds like things aren't all great and happy behind the scenes. Gives you a Andre and Reggie against the rest of the squad vibe like I feared.

The most telling quote to me was RJ saying if he could run the PnR and win the title that way he'd prefer it.

I take that to mean - since we're not winning the title - he's gonna run the PnR and strangle us into oblivion

Man, am I a bad fan to wonder what Stanley Johnson would become in the Pop system?

Dre is largely uncoachable because he's fat and happy as a 23 yr old with a 120M guaranteed contract. He's made it in his mind. Now he's just going to enjoy the ride.

"Reggie came back," Van Gundy said, "and we've struggled ever since."

SVG can be blunt, but without context I really doubt he was that blunt in throwing Reggie under the bus.

Reggie and Drummond are just toxic for each other. Reggies stubborn lazy immaturity brings out Those same traits in Drummond as well. Need to move Reggie at the deadline and see if Drummond gets it together and then shop him at the draft if not.
