I don't particularly care for SVG, but if I had to pick one, I'd rather keep him as a coach than a GM. If we had any players that could spot up and shoot worth a damn, SVG's coaching would look a lot better. For whatever reason, he's maxed out his cap space with a bunch of players that don't fit his scheme at all, and then is confused when they aren't capable of making a shot or winning. SVG is a far more incompetent GM than coach. And he's not a very good coach...

Let's remember who our past 5 coaches were. This is a knee jerk reaction offering up a "problem" without a solution.

Besides, we could have Pop and people would still call for his head after every loss. After a while this just gets old. Young team. Imperfect coach. I get that we all want better, but this isn't fantasy lala land and you have 20 something other teams all wanting the same thing; to be in that elite tier.

I think he had pretty much over achieved in the duo role until this season, but I think we have a lot of pieces, his coaching this season might have held us down a bit but I bet he gets his coaching groove back next year, these guys will. More in tune with each other, we definitely give him one more year regardless. With what he started with he has put together a good group, and even missing the playoffs by a game or two in yr three could have been not out of the realm of possibilities. Look at Milwaukee, in and out every yr, Minn. Can never get anywhere, were treadmilling with 4-6 teams yr to yr right now, but were still younger and have more potential than most. I would honestly be cool with another lottery pick, our talent pool will grow, and it will drive the players we've invested in to work harder this summer, and you never now what kind money a good owner is willing to spend to put a winning team in the new arena. Even SVG knows we don't have it yet, the maturity is not there, so as gm spent the season going "against the grain" to push the development ahead in the future.

I honestly don't think SVG is at complete fault. His coaching decisions and stubbornness is definitely a noted issue. As well as his wild lineups or not changing it up when things are obviously going haywire are something he needs to get better at.

Having said that, I still am fine with him overall. A lot of talents, especially guards and forwards have developed decently under him. Which is funny, since he's credited with developing Dwight and all, but he's a much better PG/guard whisperer than a center.

I have to give SVG props, he still tried to trade Dre and RJ this season, which is commendable since that means he's doing his due diligence on doing whatever it takes to change things up and preemptively looking at things in a broad spectrum.

I dump RJ and AD before i dump SVG. You cant teach BBALL IQ or effort and these clowns have neither. With that said, If neither are moved in the off season and we go into next year with the same roster more or less and same results, id be ready for a change.

7 wins off HCA in the playoffs as the 4th seed.

Keep track of that and look at the dumpster perennial Lotto Loser we were before SVG and his crew arrived!

Bunch of petulant kids whining that we haven't gone from the outhouse to the penthouse in 3 seasons despite adding no top 5 picks or marquee free agents!

I think it's okay to be concerned/upset when we're struggling to even make it into the playoffs with one of the highest payrolls in the league that'll only get bigger in the offseason when we're forced to max out KCP.

No.

And he's not the Pistons GM. I wish we could get more people to realize this.

But you can operate above the cap or make moves to get under it.

People act like it's a death sentence to have a high payroll

Eye test on this team is brutal. We are way worst than our record. I'd keep him, but force him to clean house, if I am Gores.

Ok. He hired the GM and he's the GM's boss. Better?

I'm sick of SVG. IMO Mo Cheeks was more promising.

If this team has the highest payroll in the NBA (it will if we max KCP and Baynes picks up his option), and we're still this team just clawing for the 8th seed, I could see Gores making a move next summer with a year left on SVG's contract.

I'd gladly take another year of mediocrity if that was the result. Bring in Sam Hinkie, finally get this team on track.

Still seeing people concerned about the payroll. Have you guys a debt with Gores and are you going to pay the team from your own wallet or something?

SVG is the man. It is not his fault Drummond and RJ lack effort once they got paid.
