from what i saw .08 in michigan is "just barely" over the limit? not that any kind of impaired driving should be okay but it's definitely better than driving hammered like you hear some athletes get caught doing.

Police said Caldwell-Pope was pulled over around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday on Auburn Road near Squirrel Road after being clocked driving 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The advanced roadside impairment officer said when he walked up to the car, he smelled alcohol. He put Caldwell-Pope through sobriety tests and placed him under arrest, police said.

Caldwell-Pope was "very cooperative" with the officer, authorities said. He was issued a ticket for DUI after a Breathalyzer test at the police station registered his blood-alcohol content at 0.08.

Kind of strange he played tonight even though the team knew about it. Doesn't sound like he was really drunk... but it's still dumb.

Yeah I have no idea how he played tonight. Usually the NBA brings the hammer down on these things, did no one know?

He blew the legal limit which would net him a DUI regardless if he was at or under it. It's a dumb situation.

He hasn't got that extension yet, so he can't afford a driver, that sucks.

At least he wasn't doing dumbspit, 45 in a 25 is a good amount over, but at 2 something in the morning no little kids should be out on the streets.

Is this grounds for an NBA suspension or no?

Call a farxin Uber XL or hell call a small limo if need be

So so so dumb

Hopefully this will drive his price down in the summer, probably not but hopefully

Agree...although at 2:30am I'm more inclined to cut him some slack

10 over? Yeah ok...silly but at the time more forgivable

20 over? Gonna get it

Why isn't his speed more of an issue? Do you yanks not worry about that as much?

You can't justify this guys. drunk driving is a serious offense and was beyond stupid and irresponsible by KCP. Even if he blew a .08 it doesn't matter. I wonder how long after the breathalyzer was administered? Disappointed in KCP. Call an Uber you dumbass.

Also team went partying celebrating their moral victory on Tuesday.

For sure, I have 2 myself, I just think KCP learned his lesson instantly so I'm not concerned it will be an issue in the future and I don't believe he should be suspended at all.

Pistons are a joke. Now we can add Pope to the mess. He doesn't get a pass. His play isn't as good as some of you pretend it is either.

1. He is stupid
2. As a european, I don't understand why the breath-analyzer is not used in the first moment when you get stopped by the police.
3. He has got infected by the dynamic of the group (in the court).
4. It is time for the franchise to use KCP as a bad example. He is good guy, I think he would deeply regret it and be willing to apologize and work in community activities to give example.
