Chad Ford mock (2017)

Has us taking Zach Collins at #11. I'd be very happy with that. Dude has the makings of the 2nd coming of Kevin McHale.

Of course, a different coach would be preferable to maximize his elite low post skills.

I'll wait 4 years before taking a Chad Ford mock seriously.

Seems he was right on Stanley. Just sayin.

I like Miles but struggle to see him doing well in the pros. He's too much of a tweener and we already have an abundance of that.

Would prefer Justin Patton

He's always been a horrible evaluator. Just because you get a 50% on a test doesn't mean you still pass.

I will kill myself if we take another big, white guy who can "do it all".

If this were the real draft, you take Bridges and thank the bball gods.

He seems to be way ahead of the curve and if his skills translate he could be a game changer for sure but if he loses speed and agility as he fills out that could be a deadly blow to his NBA career. That being said, in the late lottery you definitely take a guy like him.

I'm assuming OP meant John Collins. Don't want, no thanks. He has no place in the modern NBA.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Zach-Collins-7303/ This guy, mocked for 2018. I don't know anything about him or Gonzaga and lost interest in the tournament after Michigan was eliminated, but hey, he was a Freshman on the national runner-up.

He seems like someone SVG would reach 20 picks out to get. He looks like he could keep Ellenson company, which is good I guess.

He can ball. Gonzaga likely would have won the title had he not fouled out with 5+ mins remaining.

If he declares he will go top 12, he likely the top C prospect in the class. Admittedly he was helped by the tournament which is always something to be weary about, but he has had nice advanced stats all season. Seems like he has a chance at being a genuine stretch 5 with excellent defense. A mould which would serve us a lot better going forward instead of Drummond with the way the sport is going.

He's essentially the Anti-Dre.

High basketball IQ, outside shooting, shot blocking/protecting the rim, fundamentals and post moves.

So this kid is a Unicorn?

Why wouldn't he go top 7?

A big that can stretch the floor AND provide rim protection? Top 7 with ease!

**** these little dudes man, bigs win big! Lebron is a big **** guy, Timmy was too, KG, Dirk...you build franchises around those guys and grab your guard later

Honestly think if he was at Kentucky or Duke etc, he would be in the top 7

The stretch part of his scouting report is exaggerated. He's not a sharp shooter. If we're still obsessed with bigs stepping out and shooting 3's, then look elsewhere. His post game is what will make him pro.

Wtf why would want john leaur 2.0 with a lottery pick?? Chas ford don't know nothing. Everything I've said about the team has come to fruition. That said, the only bigmen that should be on the pistons radar is bam adebayo and john Collins.

I don't even like Chad Ford AT ALL, but this kind of thinking (along with the, 'hey, let's draft a not-even 6'7 PF/SF tweener with an iffy shot') is just silly in my view. Zach Collins and Jon Leuer are nothing alike other than the fact that they're white, tall, and play basketball.

Collins (as long as he decalres, because Gonzaga) is pretty clearly the best center in this draft class and has a great combination of high BBIQ, athleticism, go-to post moves/counters, rebounding ability, and defensive ability. Additionally, he's the only non-raw center prospect (unless you include Rabb) in this draft whereas everyone else (Patton, Adebayo, Allen, etc) is a draft-on-potential pick. Plus, when you watch him, you can tell right away that he's a real game changer: not to mention that he's done all of this while having to come off the bench the whole season. The same can't be said about Patton, Allen, Rabb, or Adebayo from what I've seen of them. Of course, he needs to get stronger (probably his main weakness), continue to develop his jump shot, and become more consistent on both ends, but if Ntilikina is off the board, I'll take Collins no questions asked.
