NBA Draft Lottery

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:06 am

Is this the year we finally get lucky? I sure hope so.

So who is going to be our representative? How about Dennis Rodman? :-)

we have about a 2.7% chance of moving into the top 3. we have a better chance (3.6%) at moving down in the draft :D

is it sad that i put in may 16th in my phone calendar? as much as i want us to get a top 3 pick a very rewarding consolation would be if the lakers fell out of the top 3 and lost their pick to philly.

There's certain teams we need to move up into the top 3 to help switch things up for us. Like Dallas is a huge threat to take Ntilikina. However if they move into the top 3 maybe that helps him drop to us. We aren't winning no lottery though so I'm not even thinking that.

If that happens, the Lakers are going to be working their phones like crazy with Magic at the helm and Paul George looking like he don't want to play basketball no more. PG rumors are going to be a frenzy.

If you're just watching until the Pistons pick is called, it should be a short show.

We can't win games, or lotteries.

The last time we had a top 3 pick was 2003 and last time we had the number 1 pick was 1970, the lottery just hasnt been good to us lets hope that changes..

We really haven't been bad enough to get a top pick since we got Grant Hill.

That 03 pick wasn't even ours, it was the Grizzlies.

Even if we landed a top pick, as pessimistic as it is, I'd then be worried that the Pistons would botch the pick. Take Lonzo Ball, who'd refuse to play for Detroit or something.

If we stand pat at 12 (97% we will), I'm all for taking OG Anunoby. At 12, we should just swing for the fences on a guy with his physical profile. 6'8 in shoes, allegedly a 7'6 wing span. Guarded point guards to centers in college. Health pending (he's recovering from an ACL injury), he has an elite physical profile. Offense is shoddy, but if he could develop a decent spot-up 3, he could be productive on offense and destroy guys on defense in a best case scenario.

I like OG as he's going to be a elite defender but I doubt we would take him. For one he can't shoot 3s and we have a log jam at 3/4 already. But OG makes the little shorts look bad ass with his tree trunk legs, lol.

As I've said before here - LaVar Ball and Stan Van Gundy are destined for each other. So we're getting the 3rd overall pick and Ball still on the board...

Hell I'm 100% fine with this. At top 3 pick and some good ass bball drama between 2 loud mouths.

With our luck that's all we would get out of finally landing a top 3 pick. Two loud mouths going at it and a bust.

Odds are great that at least 1 of the top 5 will bust - if it's Ball that would be hilarious

His shooting is an issue, he was 52% from the FT line, that's probably more concerning to me than an ACL injury. But, we don't have anyone at the 3 or 4 that entrenched in that position. They're there because we don't have a better option. Morris, Harris, Leuer, Ellenson and Johnson are all replaceable and their position could use an upgrade.
