Ben McLemore?

Any interest? We need a backup 2 and he could come cheap. He's never lived up to his hype but looking at his stats he still shot 38% from 3 and 43% overall in about 20mpg last season. Could be a low risk high reward signing for cheap. I loved the guy pre draft and thought he would be the next Ray Allen. Maybe a change of scenery could really help him.

Even though I haven't seen him play much, I've had the impression he is a great athlete but not a pure scorer, which makes you look good in college, and just an average player in the pros where everyone is an athlete. I guess getting him on the cheap would make it interesting, especially if our expectations is only for a backup SG.

I feel like McLemore is another one of those players the board has wanted since before he was drafted (current champ is Hezonja), where we hope he can turn it around here.

This actually doesn't sound that bad though if he can be had for cheap.

I really liked McLemore coming into the NBA. I think if he was drafted by a different team his career would likely be in a better spot right now.

I'd be willing to take a flyer on him for cheap, but my worry is he wouldn't prosper here either based on how we develop players.

meh. Solid athlete. OK shooter. Assuming we resign KCP and don't completely change the roster, I wouldn't bother. He's another low key guy who doesn't really bring much intensity to the court. I'd rather force feed Stanley minutes and hope he shows some defensive leadership ability.

He really needs to go somewhere where he can just stay in his lane. You put him in atlanta, toronto, sanan, boston etc I think he'll be a solid roll player. He strikes me as a system guy. You put him in a situation where he has to create or make reads and he's not going to look good.

He could be a decent replacement to Bullock assuming he signs elsewhere, but someone would need to be gone from this roster.

I'd rather have Bullock, and I assume he'll be significantly cheaper.

If he's replacing bullock then sure. But if bullock wants to stay here for cheap, then you might as well keep the guy. He knows everybody already. Mclemore isn't going to give us much.

Isn't he a free agent? If so, do we even have the cap space to get a deal done? Would love to have him as our backup sg, I prefer him over Bullock, Hilliard and Gbinije.

I don't think we could get him cheap enough to make acquiring him a good move unless we're dumping an unwanted deal in the process while also picking up an asset.

I agree. Drafting is tough. It is easy picking out the best athletes and the best shooters, but it is so hard to figure out who is going to keep working on their game. Even MJ was mediocre on defense and not a great long range shooter when he came in the league. But he worked hard all the time and it paid off.

Underpay? That's not SVG's style. It's overpay or nothing for him.
