I'll keep this first post updated. Better to have it all in one place rather than trying to scour through pages of the draft thread. Here's the first one:

At this point, I'll be happy with Donovan Mitchell and calling it a day.

It's how the workouts usually are. There's one or two relevant players for the first round pick then the rest are second round or undrafted targets. From reports Detroit worked out eight groups of six players last year and Malik Beasley on his own.

Does this imply that we're trading for a 2nd round draft pick?

Bower has mentioned the possibility of trading for a second round pick several times, so I think it's clear they're in the market for one. Likely looking to buy one with cash, or give up one of our current second rounders like Gbinije or Hilliard.

I don't think so. More of an emphasis on getting a look at undrafted players. It would be nice if the team got into the second round somehow but I wouldn't expect it.

The workouts for the 12th pick this year should be fairly easy to predict. With the top group being pretty well set there's only a handful of likely options, and there are always guys who aren't willing to workout for teams later in the lottery. Anigbogu is part of the group that we should have seen coming. Also including Jarrett Allen, OG Anunoby, Luke Kennard, Donovan Mitchell, and Justin Jackson. Justin Patton, John Collins or Terrance Ferguson might be brought in too but I would bet more on the first five. And then whatever guys they can get from the top couple of tiers to workout. Like Zach Collins and maybe an outside chance of Lauri Markkanen or Frank Ntilikana, but I don't think the latter lasts that long and it's a stretch the other two do as well.

Not that it matters a whole lot though. If the Pistons are lucky enough that someone falls not bringing them in for a workout isn't going to prevent them from taking the BPA.

SVG is a homework guy and has stated in the past that the Draft process is the last chance to really talk to these players for YEARS!

So we'll use this time to collect info on as many players as we can - or at least the ones our scouts like.

Of course we don't have a 2nd rounder. This actually feels like a deep enough draft to get good talent with one.

He did his homeworks so well that he finished picking two crappy old second rounders...

FMD! This again?

Picked mature players because they're more fundamentally sound

Some people find anything to whine about

with the expanded rosters it makes sense to work out guys that might go undrafted, they'd be prime candidates for the 16th and 17th "flex spot" contracts.

and there's still value in working out guys. gives you a little history with them, gives you a better idea of the player/person in case you ever want to trade for them, we could pick up a second rounder, etc.

not much point in just working out the top 5 guys on your board and calling it a day.

I love Ike Anigbogu but not sure he fits our current roster, but love having a true defensive anchor like Big Ben on our team

Anybody been reading all the fluff pieces on this kid from Florida State? Easy to root for the guy, one thing that keeps standing out to me about him is that he came into FSU a terrible free throw shooter( not surprising since he wasn't even a basketball player) and yet he becomes an 81% free throw shooter!!!! That's exceptional.

Maybe we bring him in as an UDFA

Some interesting names. Detroit worked out Andrew White last year too before he decided to pull out of the draft and transfer to Syracuse.

Keep that in mind when the Detroit Pistons work out Duke shooting guard Luke Kennard on Saturday.

A person with firsthand knowledge of the workout told the Free Press on Wednesday that Kennard is scheduled to visit the practice facility – along with Duke big man Harry Giles and Wake Forest power forward John Collins.

Another interesting workout coming. Detroit is working out a lot of players underneath that top 11 group.
