The Detroit Pistons could be a potential suitor for sharpshooting swingman C.J. Miles this summer.
According to a Thursday report from the Detroit Free Press' Vince Ellis, a person with knowledge of the Pistons' offseason plans said Miles "would be on our list."
On Wednesday, ESPN.com's Chris Haynes cited sources who said Miles has decided to decline his $4.8 million player option for next season and test the open market.
The Pistons have an undeniable need for improvements on the wing considering they finished last season ranked 28th in three-point percentage (33.0) and 27th in total threes made (631).

Another SF? Not buying it. Hell if we do bring him whatever, they're going to get a rid of someone then. 10-11ppg doesn't look enticing either.
As Motown said don't have the $.

Would potentially be the end of SJ's time here if we sign Miles.

He's a vet who can shoot. Our guys struggled mightily in that category last season. He's a safe back up for KCP if we get zero improvement from guys in the offseason. SJ and Hilliard struggled. Bullock hasn't been healthy since he's been a Piston. So it is good to have a potential safety net in Miles.
Getting him means creating more competition for guys who could be thinking they'll coast their way into the season.
I'd love to see us get some pieces that could push Dre to get better. I'm hoping we somehow retain Baynes for that purpose or pick up Zach Collins in the draft as a developmental piece...to potentially take the reins.

If he's on our list, then I'm sure it's a big *** list. I can't see it happening for all the reasons above

My rule is: If it's being talked about this far in advance, it's not gonna happen. Sorry Spurs, no Chris Paul for you

He'd be a nice complement. Dunno how much he's gonna cost, though,

Should add 15 wins at least.

We will probably trade our first rounder away for cap space. Boring. I would like to see a move that actually makes me want to watch games again. Draft picks. Watching development. Good players. Not topped out borderline playoff perennial 5-8 seed treadmill teams.

I`m a big fan of CJ Miles, He came to the league young from High School(17-18 yo IIRC), played for Jerry Sloan several years and was well developed. Whenever he was on the court for Indiana they were a much better team. Not sure what would take to get him but he would be a HUGE upgrade at SG of SF and would give us a lot of flexibility.
