i think gorgui dieng would be a really good 2-way player to put next to drummond. he can stretch the floor and block shots.

here's some highlights what do you guys think?

What would it take to get him from Minnesota?

I don't think we have the assets tbh

I like him as a C - maybe move Dre to a third team and that team gives Minny what they're after?

Something like:

Dre out, Dieng in
Bledsoe out, Dre in
Dieng out, Bledsoe in

Then Minny can deal Rubio for a big man

Yeah. Some ppl probably trade him for a bag of Doritos. Sometimes you don't know what you got till its gone. Off season is fun our team is **** lol

we really wouldnt need him to shoot 3s everytime as long as he can run up the floor grab boards, block shots, shoot some mid range jumpers he should be good.

I like him, but it also depends on what happens on draft night. if a point guard falls to us, I wouldn't mind doing a package of Morris and Smith for him and future picks. then by mid-season trading Boban, he has a big salary hike in year three that would be nice to avoid.

we'd have to include jon leuer in the deal to match salaries so i'd say leuer/morris/2nd rounder should get it done

Why would Minnesota trade Dieng? He's one of their very few competent defenders. I'm not in favor of investing in starting/majority lineups with two bigs but the Timberwolves look to be building that way. They're not letting go of Gorgui.

Horrible idea. Spacing would be terrible.

Rubio is their other starter that's a competent defender and they are looking to deal him so who knows. I like both players a lot though, clearly their young studs that are putting up big numbers have major flaws still.

They have Dunn to replace Rubio though. He might actually be an upgrade defensively, as long as at least some of his potential is reached.

Dunn is completely useless offensively and still has a ways to go defensively from the limited action I saw him in. It makes no sense at all to me, Rubio is still only 26, is clearly helping his young teammates develop their offensive games, brings it on defense and is on a bargain deal.

The best argument I can see is that Wiggins, LaVine, and Towns are all guys that get their own offense and having a top-line distributor is kind of overkill. Rubio isn't worth much off-ball and if he's only out there for defense then putting someone in there who's cheaper makes sense. I agree Dunn is still unproven and has a ways to go but letting him grow with the rest of the young squad isn't an awful idea.

The idea that Minny have to start Dunn boggles my mind. They'd be better served having Rubio mentor him another year then trade Ricky

His value should be pretty high now though, especially after his post All Star break performance

Can't see Minny adding another rookie in the Lotto either so should be some interesting trade chatter around them
