We need to go after Porzingis..NOW!

Post#1 » by sfballa13 » Thu Jun 22, 2017 1:51 am

With all the rumors of Kristaps being traded we need to go after him hard...

We have the pieces

- Young center signed to a long term deal: Drummond

- Capable starting PF signed to a ridiculously small contract: Mook

- Ability to take on Noah's idiotic deal

- Ability to send our #12 pick

Other teams may have more to offer like a top 10 pick but no team can offer two starters, one being a 23 year old All-Star Center

Even if it's not a 1 for 1 deal and we involve the Suns, this deal needs to get done

Build around KCP/Stanley/Tobias/Porzingis and let the chips fall where they may

Remember Phil wanted to run the Pistons and has a relationship with Gores, maybe Tommy can pull some strings

As a Knicks' fan would you rather have an unknown at #4 or a starting PF and a center that is 2 years older than Porzingis and can put up big numbers while putting fans in the seats

Dolan is dumb enough to do it as well

Instead of pining over trades for trash like DeAndre, we should shoot for the moon and do what we need to grab him

Gores can baby Porzingis, make him the face of the Pistons and their new arena, involve him in the process of building the team around him, guarantee him a spot in Detroit sports history. He obviously wants the attention that was never given to him in New York.

I dont see a kid that is looking for a big spotlight like Drummond is, I see a guy that wants to play basketball for an organization that appreciates him and puts him first under all circumstances

How about a #12 pick where they can get Justin Jackson! Close enough right?

Doesn't have to be a direct trade, we could send Drummond and #12 to the Suns while also taking back Chandler

So the Suns would deal the #4 in exchange for dumping Chandler, getting Drummond to pair with Booker, and the #12 pick

New York gets their #4 pick

Mook can be traded to either team that wants or requests him

Everyone is happy

To Suns: Drummond, #12, Mook

To Knicks: #4

To Pistons: Chandler, Dudley, Porzingis

Drummond
Stanley
12th Pick
A future 1st round pick with lottery protection

for

Porzingis
Noah

Is that fair?

Pistons get Porzingod, build around him

Knicks unload Noah, get some picks, and get 2 starters to pair with Melo.

18 pts. 7 rebounds, 2 blocks with 36% from 3PT as a 21 year old

Seems pretty overrated to me

No, but Phil has done tons of drugs and could very well be bordering on the edge of senility at 71 years of age

Couple that with Dolan's stupidity and us taking back Noah (or Chandler from the Suns), this deal could get done

But yeh lock the thread up and keep the one with DeAndre Jordan for Drummond going

It's really not that funny. Have you read some of the comments Phil has made in the past week?

Every writer in the NBA media circles are questioning his sanity and whether or not this is Phil playing the media to scare Porzingis somehow (which doesnt make sense) or simply just Phil losing his mind

Phil stated they have to start thinking about the future, wtf is a 21 year old guy that is putting up those kind of numbers then? Wouldnt that be the future?

Just taking his comments at face value, looking at Porzingis as one of the top 20 trade assets in the NBA one would have to seriously think about if Phil is on his way out of the Knicks just for the pure stupidity of even considering the trade

There is a huge opportunity to dump Drummond and Reggie in the days leading up to the draft and SVG is sitting on his ass, not a good look for us at all

The Phil Jackson comment has been taken so far out of context by the media that it's laughable. Phil hasn't lost his mind. That's absurd. This is what the media does when they need to drum up a bunch of b******* to keep the masses chicken fed for network ratings. Find a video of the entire conversation.. Phil basically states that if he can get two quality players and a draft pick by trading porzingis, that is a consideration that should be pondered. And I'd have to agree.

I'm positive SVG is doing his diligence. Anyone hear about the Dwight or LA trade going down? Really don't hear about the trades until they happen.

I think Phil is trying to get fired, lol.

They want a number four pick AND an established starter.

He's willing to move him (which is bizarre in and of itself, he's trying to erase his best move which was drafting him), but at least right now it looks like the asking price is massive.

Getting Porzingis would be feeding into the SVG "Orlando Magic" gameplan, which isn't Piston basketball. I'll pass big time on the soft big guy.

We already have a soft big man on our roster, Drummond, one who happens to have no motivation or willingness to improve his game or give it 100% in games where he either isnt getting the ball or isnt getting it going on offense

Get him a new coach or some veterans players around him and you'll see a difference.
