Ish had a good year but he's expendable and can get us a decent Return. Pair him with Ellenson and you got yourself a brand new shiny forward.
Galloway is our new backup PG. This makes the Kennard fans happy too instead of just letting him rot on the bench. Ellenson will be rotting on the bench lol so we might as well deal him with Ish for somebody that can help now. Any suggestions fellow positive minded pistons fans? :)

I think we'll be keeping Ish until Reggie proves he's fully healthy. Ish and Boban will likely have higher trade value next year as expiring deals, so if Stanley and/or Ellenson don't step up and prove themselves as part of this team going forward, hopefully they maintain enough value whoever we want to move can be included in the ~$13 mil expiring from Ish/Boban and maybe with a pick so we can get a real starting forward out of the deal.

Even if RJ is 100%, Ish is the best floor general we have. And the only competent one.

Galloway had a better 3pt% than Clark last year (and for their careers) on twice as many attempts fwiw. Obviously Galloway's contract is much bigger tho... and Galloway has played a lot more pg.

Galloway can defend too. I think the general consensus is really underselling him. Langston is good guys. Overpaid a bit, yes, but he's not some scrub that should be making the minimum either.

Now the problem is getting him/the other guards enough minutes...

Plus there is at least some concern about Clark given that he was was pretty bad before playing on one of the best offensive teams ever.

Galloway has pretty much been himself on every trainwreck team in the league. Now he gets to join ours!!

Some kindred spirits here. This signing keeps getting panned, but I always liked his game. For the wingspan fans, it's 6'8" which is slightly more than Bradley's. Galloway is a pro who got there the hard way. He doesn't take plays off and willingly moves the ball. Good teammate. I'm thinking he's going to win some folks over.

I'd still would have taken Ian Clark over Bullock. Maybe even Galloway.

Clark has kept it professional during their chip runs and he at least comes from a system that is well established. He's a decent player.

Maybe it's just cause he's a Piston now but i'd take Galloway over Clark and Bullock, who ironically he'll be fitting with for PT. Clark to me screams player that was amplified by one of the best teams ever lol. I think there was a good reason he didn't get paid.

Whether he lives up to his contract remains to be seen, but I was always a fan of this signing from strictly a player standpoint.

Shannon Brown looked like a legit player playing with Kobe and Gasol. JR Smith looks good with Bron while he was looking awful on the Knicks. Never measure a role player who has played in a great roster, because he could be trash outside of that roster configuration or without the benefits of having incredible stars surrounding him.

So Galloway is better at defense than KCP and just as good on offense, right? :tooth

Given the recent report in RJ still not being cleared for full activities the signing of Galloway could be critical.

RJ was shut down in March if memory serves - it's now September!

I think it's time to expect the worst situation: Reggie's a dead cap space. I wonder if we could trade him giving the other team something

Will Ish and Galloway at PG be better than Ish and Beno??

The report on RJ makes me wish we'd drafted Mitchell...

We'd still have signed Galloway too

Start Ish at PG and bring both Galloway & Mitchell off the pine like pit bulls to get after it on D

Is this panic just a response to the article about stan holding reggie out of 2-a-days? Or did I miss something? Everything I've read says RJ is on schedule and doing light workouts. He's supposed to start ramping up for camp.

Severe knee tendonitis can take 6-8 months to recover from. Reggie's was very severe and he'll only be 6 months into recovery from late season shut down to start of camp.

Link? The articles from yesterday said he was going to be cleared for camp but SVG was going to let him do 1-a-day vs 2-a-day.

It's the right approach - they want to strengthen the knee as much as they can without putting any extra stress on it this offseason so it can withstand the pounding it'll take during the season.

I really hope he comes back 100% but I'm taking a wait and see approach with it.

It is still September. If he's participating in camp but not doing two a days, I'm ok with that. Next month though I will be more concerned.
