Looking at this roster we need a 3rd/4th PG (Jackson/Smith/Galloway/???) - can go vets minimum cheap here. Either Pierre Jackson or Lorenzo Brown would makes sense. Brown might have the edge as he's a bigger guard who can guard the 2-guard spot.

We need a solid veteran 3/4 now though - somebody who will come for the vets minimum but can play in a pinch, but otherwise knows their role. Who wants to bet me Anthony Tolliver is brought back?

I'll say Lorenzo Brown and Anthony Tolliver. What say you?

I know our roster stinks, but I doubt we are rolling with Avery Johnson. He's got to be over 50 by now.

brown is a good bet to make the team this time around, but i wouldn't be surprised to hear us looking at mbah a moute now. SVG has spoken glowingly of him in the past

Well, unless there is another trade brewing, our active roster is basically set.

And if we want to develop our draft picks, we really shouldn't sign any vets to block that. If we signed someone like Tolliver, there is about a 100% chance that Stan plays him over Ellenson.

I disagree. Tobias had his best games at PF in my memory. I think we roll up with:

Reggie/Ish/Galloway
Bradley/Kennard/Galloway (I think Kennard beats him)
Johnson/?????
Harris/Leuer/Spot minutes for Ellenson (Still too slow)
Dre/Moreland/Boban (Boban is funny but not someone who can play significant minutes)

I wonder if Jonas Jerebko would make any sense for us. He is a FA who I have heard very little about but he had the big moments in the playoffs for the Celtics and there was a time in SVG's first year here that Jonas was playing great for us. He is a big who can shoot and if SVGs moves tell us anything this year he is looking for guys who can shoot the ball.

The balance of our MLE and our full Bi-Annual Exception is not likely enough to sign JJ. He is probably worth more than $4M in this market.

JJ is coming off a 2 year $10MM contract, so we could not even beat what he was being paid last year.

I am going after JaMychal Green with my exemption at this point and trying to move Leuer.

Silent G should be bought out if they can't use him in a trade. Guy isn't a NBA player. Heck, he's not even a summer league level talent.

I think he makes a lot more than $4M as well. And IIRC is a RFA to boot. But then Tyreke Evans signed one year 3.3M with Memphis so who knows what anybody will or will not sign for.

In general though, I think we're looking for somebody who will fall in the depth chart behind our current crop of SF's and PF's rostered BUT have the ability to play minutes if necessary. We basically need a non-ring chasing veteran, and will probably have to guarantee two years to get them here.

Should probably just sign a vet there for leadership and able to fill in If Stanley can't get it done. But SVG has got to give Stanley a green light here and see what he has in the kid.

To be honest, I want Michael Beasley. Really think he'll have an excellent season wherever he ends up.
