Thank you to Marcus Morris for two years of service. Some people argued at the time whether your virtually non-existent price tag of a 2020 2nd round pick was even worth picking you up but you came in and were the epitome of Detroit basketball. You showed that you could bloom under the right circumstances, took rookies under your wing, and filled the leadership void on a team where nobody else wanted to touch the mantle.

Morris is not an All-Star type player, never will be. But he played within himself and had some great moments. I don't get a chance to watch many games, but I remember one last year where it was basically just a one-on-one game of Marcus vs. Carmelo and Marcus destroyed him.

Plus, maybe outside of some guys on rookie contracts, Morris probably had the lowest dollars per minute ratio in the league. I hope he's able to go get his in a couple years.

He was a fun player to have, and brought an edge with him that the rest of the team didn't carry every night. His red hot shooting down the stretch of the 15/16 season was a massive reason we won 44 games.

He came to Detroit with a clean slate and he stepped up and was a true professional and leader. I will fondly remember his days as a Piston. Sad to see him leave but it was time to part ways. I wish him well moving forward.

I like Marcus. He always played hard, and helped this team improve when he arrived. Sometimes you need to rely on a guy who can create his own shot, and he saved us in several games over the past two seasons.

I hate Boston, but will be rooting for him to do well.

I really enjoyed having Mook on the squad. Before he even got here, Suns fans tried to sell him as a headcase who would probably crater our chemistry. He turned out to be a strong leader who brought a fire and the occasional one man show to the court. His style of play shouldn't work in this era (mid-range shots, iso tendencies, lack of rebounds), but somehow he managed to make it happen more often than not, all while playing for less than he was worth by NBA standards.

It was a pleasure to have him on the squad the past few years, and even in his departure, he played a part in making us a better team by netting AB. All the best in Boston Mook.

I will remember Marcus for all the times he took over games and hit huge clutch shots, I remember that one stretch he had the year we made the playoffs where he just couldn't miss any shots every single game and it was so fun to watch.

The guy was an absolute pro. Changed my mind completely. He brought leadership and toughness to a team that lacked it and zero bs to the surprise of most.
I'm happy he's on a legit playoff team. I hope he does well

I'm definitely sad to see him go. If more of the Pistons players had his attitude not only would they win more games but it would be way more enjoyable product to watch. I wish him the best and really hope he gets paid. His hard work deserves more than a lot of these goofy guys that get paid on potential with questionable attitudes.

mook def had his moments as a piston where some nights he was on fire from the 3point land and played a gritty style of basketball wish him the best of luck.

Yeah he ended up working out well here and you could tell he liked it here with how highly he spoke of Detroit as well.

That bargain contract has 2 seasons to run and you can bet he's hoping for big money

He deserves to get his. I know it never was going to happen, but if we kept him this season I thought SVG and Gores should have flat out released him, or at least bought him out to save a couple million ourselves. Let him cash in as a UFA a year earlier. Never would have happened as it's a business and he signed that contract but we do see players retire when finished rather than playing out the last year or so, Mook deserves to get a big money deal - he's probably worth near 3x what he's getting paid now AAV.

We're going to miss his toughness more than I think many realize right now. NBA is a professional league but it's still about bravado and swag and it's physical and people get ornery and pissed off. Piston players always knew Mook had their back, and the other team new Mook was here as well.

One could have argued that Mook and KCP were the only two current Pistons that could have played/fit on our championship teams and now they're both gone.

I think AB fits on all our championship teams...he's a real pro and very much loved in Boston!

We need a leader...I wonder if AB has the balls to walk in and own this ****?

Would love to see someone like him walk in on the first day and be all over it and get these guys ready to win.

Maybe SJ can do that? Would be better coming from AB though since he's had more NBA success than anyone on our roster
