Well at least for one day. It was so he could retire a Piston. Truth be told I didn't know he held his time here in that regard to even bother with the ceremony of it all.

I wonder if this means he'll be part of the org in some capacity or another.

Nearly gave me a heart attack that SVG had an aneurysm and gave him a guaranteed contract.

To be honest I thought he retired a few years ago.

That's cool, Jmax is a good dude. His problem was that he played better as a starter, but wasn't actually good enough to start. If he could have figured out how to play at that same level off the bench he would have been a great 6th man for us.

Him and millsap reminded me of each other in the beginning of their careers. Always thought max would get that mid range jumper down, but never did. Millsap did and took it out to three point land.

Baby Eater was a fun player to watch. Arms for days and a ferocious attitude most of the time. If Dre had Maxiell's mentality, he'd be hurting people on the regular.

was my favorite player while he was here. played a lot bigger than he was and always brought 110%. glad to see him do this. makes me happy.

I've grown quite despondent over Andre. He would be the best player in the league, a true game changer if he had the mentality.

There's always hope, but it grows dimmer and dimmer as the years pass...

I still have his jersey which is the only official Pistons jersey I've ever owned. Now let me throw a caveat out there--I am not a big jersey guy, but if I buy a true jersey (vs. a t-shirt or something) I buy the official jersey. However I am also frugal. So years ago my wife heard about a place near her office with official Pistons jerseys on sale. I wanted an Antonio McDyess jersey in the worst way and asked her to get me one. She went to the place and the McDyess jerseys were sold out but they still had Maxiell jerseys available.

And that's how I wound up with his jersey.

Yeah I've always loved the guys that bring the energy almost every night. My favorite Pistons have gone from Rodman to JYD to Big Ben to Maxiell to KCP and most likely next season Avery Bradley will be my fav.

I had a maxiell jersey too. He was cool.
I'd happily take a young maxiell on this team.

I like this. Maxiell's NBA career is defined by his time on the Pistons. If he ends up in the HoF, I'm sure he'll do so wearing a Pistons cap.
