Good for him, now maybe he can drop 10 per game with a ts better than .50 in the NBA, that would make me happy.

Personally his individual numbers are irrelevant to me.

He needs to be a better individual and team defender first and foremost

He also needs to be more in control offensively.

If he can hit 3s at a reasonable clip that's a bonus :-)

It's a big year coming up for SJ - 3rd year so usually I'd say its time to show and prove but given he's played multiple roles with inconsistent minutes I'll say it's time he starts putting it all together

Dropping 86 in a summer game w/ no nba players means almost nothing BUT......it's better than not dropping 86 in a summer game w/ no nba players.

The drama for SJ is:

Dominate SL, Drew or this stuff and people will say "He should dominate - he's played 2 years in the NBA"

Don't dominate? "SJ is useless"

Can't win either way

This shows that SJ is a 65% better scorer than Austin Daye. The chump could only muster 52.

The reality is that there is no upside in this situation. And it's completely fair to point that out.

The guy scored 46 points in a Drew league game last summer and we saw how that translated into the next NBA season.

Why should we suddenly be jumping out of our seats when another report comes out that he scored a bunch of points against inferior competition?

Those that are pointing out the gaudy numbers and expecting people to start singing his praises based on it are really expecting too much.

I don't think svg has ever put him in the right role. He has to have the ball and try to create for himself and others. Let him sink or swim, see what he can or can't do. I think it'd be the right thing to do, don't think svg does. Maybe this year? If not trade him to a **** team not trying to win and watch the numbers pile up id bet, maybe not good efficiency

Agree, I've never really felt he's been able to just play loose and his style of ball. SVG has to seriously just take the leash fully off this year and see what happens.

I don't think anyone is singing his praises based on this "game"

It's more "Ok, good job. Moving on"

I want to see the highlights to see if he added any polish to his game OR is it the same old stanley but just taking all the shots in a summer league game.

You are right. Stanley can't win for losing. I just have zero faith in the guy. It's like everything he and dre are doing this summer is all just the same old b.s.

That and his hulking body does him no favors at all inside. He's just does not have the coordination and finesse to finish shots inside in an NBA setting. He's either gonna turn it over or get called for an Offensive foul. It was the exact same story in college, scouts questioned his ability to finish inside since he was already poor at it during his college years. Add that to his shaky jumpshot, we literally drafted a guy that doesn't really do anything great at anything.

To be fair his jumper wasn't shaky as a prospect, just funky. He did fairly well shooting the ball (all over the court) at Arizona. Nobody was sure if it would translate to the NBA though and so far it definitely hasn't.

I'd still rather see Stanley shoot it than try to take it to the rim and finish though. Now that's ugly.
