Construct the best team

You must use three players at their peak as Pistons.
You can use any NBA players in history for the other two.

Prime Jordan and Prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with Isiah Thomas, Grant Hill and ???
Hmm, maybe need an outsider PF. I initially went with Rasheed Wallace, but his peak as a Piston wasn't his prime.
Also what era? Today's NBA?

What era would this team be competing in? If I was a gm in 2017 I'd pick a different group than 1987.

Billups, Dumars, Grant Hill, LeBron James, Shaq
Defense, shooting, playmaking, and team chemistry - something a guy like Jordan or Kobe could rupture.

PG Dumars (since truly IT and Jordan could not play on the same team with chemistry; they hated each other)
SG Jordan
SF Lebron
PF Rodman
C Sheed
Defensively this team would be ridiculous. And the offense would go through the right players. No question on hierarchy, leaders, and who gets the ball.

PG - Lebron
SG - Grant Hill
SF - Durant
PF - Rodman
C - Sheed
Lebron & Hill as primary playmakers. Durant and Sheed should provide enough spacing. 4 perimeter defenders that should be able to switch anything. Sheed as the back line of defense.

PG - Thomas
SG- Kobe
SF - Rodman
PF - Dirk
C - Big Ben
A fun team of champion players with an interesting combination of scoring and defense. Rodman and Big Ben will be the defensive anchors taking on the hard assignments, and will set the tone on that side of the court. Kobe and Thomas would be a nightmare backcourt to defend, and would each take advantage of situations where they are not double teamed. Dirk adds some offensive versatility and spaces the floor, while also having the type of personality that likely won't clash with the rest of the team.
