Well since the Piston's doesn't start until 1pm and this does involve a couple former Pistons when they were here together -

Beno sighting...

Makes some sense I guess in that Reggie is going to be limited to one-a-day's when the Pistons practice two times a day during camp. Udrih will know our systems and can run them along with Ish while Galloway and Buycks are learning them.

Buycks and Montero are two-way contract players who will spend most of season with GR Drive. Willis and Nnoko are camp bodies that might be assigned to GR Drive as affiliate players.

On an aside regarding the camp roster tweet above - how legit are those measurements, especially the weights? Do they have the players step on a scale, or are they reporting rookie/combine numbers?

Probably based off their combine numbers. I feel like Drummond has been listed at that weight since coming here and I've seen him go well above that and is probably lower now.

They seem to be a mix and/or made up. ef SJ's combine number were 6'5" 242. Dre was listed as 279 at the combine.

#Pistons SVG on Kennard “I think it’s going to be hard to keep Luke off the floor”

#Pistons SVG on Reggie Jackson preseason “He will be on a minutes limit...we haven’t decided exactly.”

#Pistons SVG says there will be a more measured approach to Reggie Jackson's return this season.

When did Beno sneak in the back door?
A quicker Dre would be a good thing.

whats depressing about this , much like SJ, was the appeal that both these players physically could carry more weight and be effective. I actually think Dre could play 290-300 but he has absolutely no clue how to use his weight and base to his advantage. Defensively going to be interesting to see if Dre improves.

Think about it, he was getting steals and had a quick first step when he was overweight. Maybe the biggest improvement will be stamina

Probably trying to get him to start defending and closing out on all these shooting bigs now. Cousins and Lopez would make him look foolish a lot dropping 3s on him. But he didn't look like he was comfortable ever leaving the paint regardless.

last season his technique most definitely improved but there was certainly hesitation on leaking out . I HOPE where we see the biggest improvement is rim protection. I absolutely can't stand watching Dre let the other team do layup drills on us.

Dre's problem hasn't really been not being quick enough to guard other centers. Obviously, getting quicker will help anyone, but he's already one of the most physically gifted bigs in the league. His problems have been more mental/desire than anything else. If he ever "gets it", he would be a beast

the idea is that the "mental desire" is inhibited by the physical ability. Dre noticeably gets pretty winded and you can even see in his play when he's tired . His problem til this season is technique and maintaining it. He's always been a instinctual player as oppose to understanding the game, technique is like 50%+ and actually should help him stay on the floor if he can maintain it.

Can't blame Dre for the endless lay ups opposing teams get.

RJ & Ish can't defend penetration and Dre gets caught guarding 2 guys at once.

Does he close on the guard (& get blown by)?

Does he hang back to protect the rim (& give up a open jumper)?

Defense is a 5 man game

exactly so when a guard gets lane penetration, DRE should rotate helps side, whats the worst that can happen in the block attempt, a open layup!? Dre doesn't even try at times

the rest of the other centers in this league , with less athleticism can figure it out. If "guard penetration" is inhibiting Dre's ability to do protect the paint, then Dre has no business being on the court.

I think its more so your making excuses for him but you also didn't realize your in fact making my point
