it's hard to break years of habit overnight, plus he's not a very physical player by nature.

For me, if he's 50% throughout the season, then miracles do really happen.

But I'm more excited about his passing potential. If he can even a tiny amount to what Draymond does in the PnR (while rolling) then we automatically are producing way more efficient shots than last year by that alone.

Remember when people were saying Dre should stop fooling arpund during his off-season and get to work?

Obviously he's put a lot of work into changing his FT shooting!

Will it hold up under fatigue? Time will tell

A lot of interesting stuff here. Some positive notes but those quotes from KCP and David Hoppla just leave me livid.... This guy is the worst ft shooter in the history of the game and he cannot put the effort in to shoot 100 FTs in a practice. That is just unbelievable....

He has clearly trained hard in the offseason, and his FT stroke looks better. I'll buy the nose to a degree, but his biggest impediments have been in his head. Is he ready to assert himself and play with pride? If so, look out. If not, another dreary season ensues. ;-)

Funny to see KCP talking about Dre`s inconsistency, considering how consistent KCP was... What an idiot, really. Good riddance.

Disappointing to see KCP doing former team mates like that

No need for it

Lots of former Pistons players have talked crap about Dre. I believe it was Middleton who commented how all you have to do is stop Andre early and he'll put his head down and pout and not be engaged in the game.

Yeah but that's Middo simply repeating the scouting report, plus they barely spent any time together as team mates

KCP is throwing **** when it doesn't need to be thrown, after spending years together.

I understand not all players are gonna be buddies - I just think it's better to be diplomatic than throw guys under the bus.

having read that as well as some comments SJ made about "players are more unselfish", i wonder how much of contention was in the Pistons lockeroom between Mook,KCP and rest of the team.

I am not surprised at Dre's lack of focus, i recall a interview in which he said something like "i work hard on my free throws, i even stay 10 minutes after the game to get reps up. What i didn't realize was that Dre was un-coachable to Hoopla. We essentially spent X amount for Dre and he said he didn't want it. Looking at SJ's confidence wain and no real noticable improvement from the players, Hoopla's apparently all hype

Eh - no shooting coach has even dramatically turned a team or player around. If you change something major about a guys shot, it's going to be 10,000 reps before he gets comfortable with it. Even then, its going to be marginal improvement over time.

Anyway, Dre's problems at the line are mostly mental, followed by consistency, followed way, way behind by a particular technique.

THIS!

I don't think some realise just how hard it is to change a player's shooting action

By the time they hit the League they've shot millions of jumpers a certain way - it's muscle memory.

To rewire any player is incredibly difficult, and to rewire something physical takes reps.

Not only did Drummond make his only FT this game, but they showed him practicing his free throws during half time shoot around.

3/3 FT 100%
