I know it's not going to happen every night - but 14 steals? We had a bunch of other deflections that didn't bounce our way too. If we keep up that type of activity defensively, this will be a fun team to watch.

And yeah, dre was in foul trouble the whole game, but his activity when we was on the court was good. 13 boards, 2 blocks and a steal in 22 minutes?

Ellenson "hitch" came back but he kept shooting and seemed to find his stroke

SJ doesn't travel anymore and seems more confident in his decisions.

OVerall good win against a good team

We couldn't have watched the same game, Ellenson was aggressive and pretty much took every shot he had open lol and drives to the rack when he needed. SJ did as well but once SJ was like 0-8 you could tell he was trying to pass more and avoid shooting. I didn't see a dear in headlights AT ALL. Ellenson looked great offensively for his first game really getting good minutes.

What I liked most? How deep we are..

Tolliver, Bullock, boban and Luke without minutes
Stanley with 0/13 fg, Avery and Andre with early foul trouble and we win

Yep, I was there. Appeared to be about 60% full with the majority of open seats in the lower bowl. It was awkward when they Gores throwing shirts into the crowd...except it was mostly empty seats.

A lot of people in the concourse/restaurants too

Move to an arena in a poorer city and upped ticket prices. Didn't even look half full. I saw a concert there and the top seats are awful, very cramped and poor sight lines. Oh well...

The upper deck sounds horrible from what my buddies at the game were telling me. That really pisses me off. Spending millions of taxpayer money on a stadium and then make the cheapseats like an old baseball stadium, screwing over the the people who paid for the stadium. The Ilitches should be ashamed.

Stanley joins Derek Favors and Westbrook as the only active players to go 0fer on 13 shots. Tied for 3rd most FGA without a make. Elite company!!

Just because all of your guys are close in skill doesn't mean you're deep. This team aint deep....the skill level from guy 5-13 just isn't very far off.

not disagreeing , all i am saying his first 3 or 4 shots his "hitch" was obvious, but it was a matter of settling in. as soon as he got comfortable his shot looked cleaner out his hands.

he was 0-13 and turned down a bunch of good shots, Ellenson missed open shots he normally makes , hence dear in the headlights

I'm gathering sj and Bradley brought energy on d and everyone followed tonight? Sj did that last year in a few games too. I have faith his shot starts falling. As long as they're not dumb shots don't mind if he takes them and misses

Almost bought tickets but they were 3 or 4 times more expensive than what the Palace was the last few years. I assumed it must have just been because it was opening night in a new arena and figured I would check again in a few weeks to pick up lower bowl tickets in the $40 to $50 range.

For the first time, it looks like you can call SJ half of a legit starter in this league. The other half has a long way to go, but a positive future for the Pistons likely needs SJ as a legit starting 3. He's smart, tough, and a leader. We need all of that stuff. He can shoot 40/30/75 and be a huge net positive for this team.

The problem is, he's still a long way from 40/30/75 on decent attempts. I'm willing to let him work through it on the court, and I hope SVG is, too.

Honestly SJ might never be a 34+ MPG guy in this league, but if he could start and play 24-30 MPG of great defense against opposing starters and we can bring in a backup who can shoot at a good % we could still be in ok position with him in the starting lineup.
