If you were to construct just a starting 5 like the 2004 championship team with current players who would they be and where would that team rank in the east.

C: Ben Wallace - DeAndre Jordan
PF: Rasheed Wallace - LaMarcus Alderige
SF: Tayshaun Prince - Jae Crowder
SG: Richard Hamilton - Klay Thompson
PG: Chauncey Billups - Kyle Lowry

#1 in the east, but would still likely not win the championship over the current Warriors.

PG- Mike Conley
SG- Bradley Beal
SF- Robert Covington
PF- LaMarcus Aldridge
C- Rudy Gobert

These guys remind me a little of the Going to Work team, even though they can’t be replicated. No “Superstars” but all these guys are competitive in their position, and as a core group could compete for a title.

Funny for SG the 3 guys I considered were Klay, Beal, and Hayward... and for Center the obvious choice if you aren't going with DeAndre is Gobert... Gobert is just a bit better offensively than Ben was and not as good of a rebounder as Ben and Jordan so I went with Jordan. Klay does a ton of catch and shoot off screens, but perhaps too I went with him because I've gotten to see a ton of him play the past few years and a lot of his shots off screens remind me of RIP. For me Prince was one of the harder guys to match up because there were 5 or 6 guys that are starting SF's in the league that I thought maybe would be similar to a young Prince in one way or another. I see the Cousins comparison based on the offensive skillset and being a bit of a loose cannon but watching Alderidge in his Portland days really reminded me a lot of what we'd see from Sheed when he decided to play up to his capabilities.

Yeah I found Prince the hardest to find a comparison for...

Which is kinda funny when we all consider him to be the "least" important of that five.

I went with Jingles for the Aussie factor and contribution across multiple areas: can hit 3s, pass, cut, defend etc

Its interesting people are making Sheed comparisons based on offensive ability, which he never maximized in Detroit. He was however consistently one of the top 2 or 3 post defenders and an over all great team defender with tremendous communication at that end of the floor.

He never maximized his offensive output anywhere though - he didnt want that

A better defending LMA is probably the right comparison.
