Kennard is inactive tonight. I truly don't understand what our coach is doing anymore.

Who's going to be the first player off the bench? My money is on Jon Leuer.

If Kennard is inactive, it may be time for Stan to step down as coach and focus on the GM portion of his job.

It makes absolutely no sense. I can't even try and defend it. Anyone?

Yeah, I'll easily defend him. This is a bunch of fan overreaction. I understand people like Kennard, so do I, but he has been outplayed on both ends of the floor by a large margin by Galloway. I can't understand how anyone would defend playing Kennard over Galloway at this point.

So what are your goals this season if your Stan? Playoffs? Conference finals? Finals? Championship?

Fan overreaction? Great way to be reductive right out if the gate stifling discussion before it begins with a quasi insult.

Guess ill just say, okay then.

It's more about the commitment Stan seems to have in not making any kind of significant leap. He'd rather just hope we can squeeze into the playoffs by playing only guys he's seen play on other teams before.

Being committed to career journeymen over your young draft picks who are arguably comparable players right now is crazy. This is especially true when you're a team that's consistently in the lottery.

Galloway has played well in the 4 games he has played this season, so I'm not going to totally destroy Stan for preferring him at the moment, but I'm sorry to say he did not turn into a 60% shooter overnight. He was garbage in the pre-season, and has been a fringe NBA rotation guy throughout his career.

We've seen how Stan gets attached to guys (Leuer) long after their little hot streak runs out. I don't really want to have to watch that play out once Langston comes back to earth and another draft pick's career ends on the Pistons bench.

(I also think you simply keep Luke on the roster over Bullock, period)

I'm not trying to insult. Just being blunt. I'm also not trying to stifle discussion. Discuss away. I just see no reason whatsoever to bench Galloway over Kennard when Galloway has severely outplayed him. Unless you want us to tank? I'll say this, if SVG is willing to sacrifice wins to develop an unproven player than THAT is when it's time for him to step down, not when he objectively looks at the best players to put on the floor and goes with them.

SVG is committed to winning. That's his job. And Galloway is helping us win much more than Kennard right now. So I would argue that benching the guys who are helping us win is indeed the craziest thing to do. That's why I say this discussion is entirely fan overreaction because THEY are the ones overly attached to a certain guy, and not SVG being attached to a guy.

When/if Galloway starts to suck then Kennard can get his shot again. That's how the NBA works. It's not like Kennard is the 1st overall pick or something.

This "commitment to winning" tonight at ALL costs is why this team has been garbage for a full decade.

It's a marathon, not a race. Sometimes you gotta look at the trajectory of the players on your roster and say... "hey, if I get these guys some real-world experience now, we've got a chance to be a far better team by the end of the year than if I just go with the guaranteed mediocrity".

We aren't talking Bradley vs. Luke here.... It's Langston Galloway / Reggie Bullock. Fringe rotation players.

Agreed, but Stan doesn’t agree - he’s in year 4 and the noose is tightening around his neck. Gores should make sure Stan doesn’t add anymore long term deals, let this year play out and go from there.

I don't see why Kennard can't get all the backup sf minutes, I like Bullock but not enough to bench Kennard.

Kennard vs Bullock is a more legit argument in my opinion but Bullock is miles better defensively and SVG knows what Bullock can do. Again, I disagree with the tankers mindset of playing the young guys in a season where we expect to be in the playoffs.

Kennard is our lotto pick, Galloway is a journeyman career back up.

Seems silly to play Galloway over him to be honest, and I don't think any of the people who agree with me on that want to tank either.
