IF SJ is out

If SJ is out next week, should SVG start Luke over Bullock?

I personally do not like Bullock, his game or his hair so I say start the young gun.

No, Bullock is better setting a defensive tone and Luke should continue to come off the bench. Besides, that roll is going to be the 5th option on offense with the starters.

We won 5 in a row now and Bullock has been starting. Keep him in the starting lineup and SVG will. There's no reason to change the rotation when you're winning. Why try to fix something that's not broken?

I'd hope they start bullock but give kennard more minutes. An even time split or somewhere near there would probably be about right.

I hope that SJ is okay long-term by the way, hip flexors are risky because they can affect so many important parts of your body (quad which has a big impact on your knee, lower back and obliques).

If SJ isn't available I think Tolliver is the only option to slow down Giannis

Luke Kennard fits better on the 2nd unit because he is a scorer. Other guys will be scoring when the starters are on the floor.

part of me believes this, and the other part says;

"Are the Pistons winning the way they are because of Bullock"?(slow starts poor defense clawing out of holes)

I believe the Pistons are winning in spite of Bullock being the worst player on the floor at any given time.

Kennard should absolutely be getting any and all of Bullocks minuets full stop. He's not tiny and playing against bigger SF's will help him learn. He provides so much offensively it more then makes up for any rookie mistakes as evidence last night. He even made some very nice defensive plays.

Kid has to play instead of Bullock and after seeing presser by Stan after the game I think Stan knows it now as well.

Bullock is close to done in this town.

The pistons aren't winning because of bullock, but they are winning with a lineup featuring a defensive minded SF that doesn't need touches. SJ obviously does a better job at that then bullock, but that's the basic role that is working for us right now. Also, luke has looked pretty good out there with ish. If you are going to play small ball, you really need to get the tempo up.

The real answer is "we need SJ back". He's the guy that fits with Reggie, Avery, Tobias, and Dre.

As a Piston, Morris shot better than SJ ever has.

Bet you the offense this year will be better than any lineup we had Marcus in

It's a different offense... I don't blame Marcus, I blame SVG for last year. SVG was stubborn but finally listened to his brother and the assistant coaches in the offseason. I haven't watched Mook much in Boston but I'd bet Brad Stevens gets the best out of him. After the all-star break we should ask the Boston board if he's stagnates their offense.

Bullock should start but if he sucks give Kennard more minutes. Bullock is at least better on defense. Also, lets not make the same mistake we made with Ellenson... Kennard is rookie and he could very be as bad in the next as he was good in the previous game.

I don't mind bullock starting with kennard getting some burn off the bench. If we do mix it up, maybe move Harris to SF and bring Tolliver in at PF. Kennard is slowly getting there, no point rushing him.
