Statistically having his best year. Thoughts? Someone post some numbers, I'm too lazy.

Other than the 15 season being higher in points, assists and rebounds - sure. Statistically the best year yet. :)

I think he's playing the most efficient basketball of his carrier though. Tied for 6th in ADJ FG% for point guards. His shot looks so much better than it did a couple years ago.

I should have been more clear. I'm on the road for work and didn't have long to say much in the original post. I'm referring to his efficiency. He's only playing 28 mins a game too. His numbers are very good right now. Drummond and Reggie were the two a lot wanted gone more than anything coming into this season, now they have completely turned it around.

Completely is an overstatement. RJ is still paying invisible defense and Dre joins him for stretches still.

it understandably took him a little while to get going since he barely played basketball this summer and just strengthened his knee but he's playing really well now.

first 10 games: 15.5 PPG, 6.3 APG, .426 FG%, .333 3P%, .537 TS% (league average is .555)
last 14 games: 17 PPG, 5 APG, .517 FG%, .415 3P%, .614 TS% (league average is .555)

he's also back to being classic reggie finishing around the rim which is a huge part of his game. here are the numbers:

2014/15: 61.5% at the rim, 41.8% from 3 to 9 feet, 42.9% from 10 to 15 feet <--- year we traded for him
2015/16: 58.2% at the rim, 38.4% from 3 to 9 feet, 47.4% from 10 to 15 feet <--- first full season with him
2016/17: 50.3% at the rim, 37.1% from 3 to 9 feet, 44.7% from 10 to 15 feet <--- last year, the "injury year"
2017/18: 63.2% at the rim, 43.5% from 3 to 9 feet, 62.8% from 10 to 15 feet <--- this year

the bolded number is insane which is his floater range. the league average for shots in that range is slightly over 40%. he's leading the league in that area.

Good time to sell high on Reggie, his poor defense is very frustrating to watch.

Amazing breakdown. We've all been enriched by reading your post.

For the most part, Reggie is playing more under control and picking his spots more this season. Which, happens to correlate to a more efficient performance thus far. Is RJ as big of an impact player as two seasons ago? No, but this Reggie is better for winning games than big personal performances every night.

He hasn't been perfect. He never will be. He'll never reach the levels of superstardom he believed could achieve. But, he's been good. Which is a massive improvement over what we got last year. I'll take that any day.

And, if a star PG comes on the market (again!!!) SVG better make a real play for them. Kyrie Irving level players don't hit the market often. You have to be willing to go all-in for them. You can't assume several draft picks are going to yield anywhere near the player Irving is.

He's definitely having a bounceback year. You wouldnt' get much for him but you could probably get out from under his deal right now from SOMEONE... problem is there aren't a lot of large expiring deals around the league so you'd prob be eating bad contracts. Makes more sense to keep him.

His defense is still deplorable though
