What will the Pistons do at the deadline?
Will the Pistons do something major, something minor, or nothing by the deadline? And perhaps more importantly, why?

I would like to see Avery and Tobias traded for picks/young players but I expect SVG to do nothing or make a desperation trade.

If Avery Bradley is still on this team after the deadline then that'll do it for me with SVG. There is no way we should keep him and let him walk for the nothing at the end of the season. We take the best we can get.

Baynes was in a similar position as Bradley and I expect the same strategy. Keep him until the end of the season in a meaningless and unrealistic grab for the playoffs and lose him for nothing.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

There'll be a big trade if it's up to SVG. If we don't see a trade, SVG is being let go this offseason

If we lose Bradley for nothing then that would make Greg Monroe KCP Baynes and Avery as guys lost for nothing under SVG.We better get atleast a 2nd rounder for Avery..

We have to trade AB, If we don't he's leaving anyways. Hopefully package him and Tobias for a pick and some change

I'm guessing a move that barely moves the needle. I really would like an exciting move, but that's not happening

Re: What will the Pistons do at the deadline?
It’s been very a very disappointing season but a tiny piece of me holds out hope for a turnaround.
I keep going back to: what if Reggie never went down? We were solidly in the 3-5 range for 30 games.
If there is a chance Reggie can come back for the last 25, I’m still blindly hoping we can get some wins and see some playoff basketball.

Re: What will the Pistons do at the deadline?
we should sell the higher we can on Tobias and Avery.
I'm afraid we are moving our FRP.
I bet we'll stay put or make lateral moves.

Stan holds and hopes for a late season run with Reggie back so he can say "See, my team I built was good enough - it was just the injuries" to try and save his job. It will probably work on Gores as well.

Avery and Tobias to the Cavs for the Brooklyn pick please.
Or at least use Avery to dump Leuer or Galloway.

no reason to dump Leuer or Galloway wasting assets. we are not making a splash in free agents' market.

Well, you kinda slanted this poll with the definition of "big trade" as being anything involving a starter. It wouldn't exactly require a blockbuster to send out our starting small forward.
I do think SVG is feeling the heat though. If he doesn't make a move, we're probably not making the playoffs. If we were treading water with Reggie out, that would be different. As is, we are sinking like a stone and a late season run is just going to be enough.

Avery has to want to sign here in order to be an asset for us after the deadline.
I'd rather push Luke into a bigger role than sign Avery to a big 4 or 5 year deal at this point.

Avery probably wants to re-sign here because we own his FBR's. I wonder if he gets anything more than the full MLE anywhere else after this crud season he's had here.

Yeah Stanley sucks and I thought about putting "Four Horsemen" and "The rest of the scrubs" but that would start a different argument......
Anyways, I voted "No Deal." My personal opinion - Stan won't be allowed to add more contract years to this team, so that knocks out most upgrades. Plus no one wants our crappy contracts. I suppose that there's a chance Bradley could be traded, but does Van Gundy really want to throw in the towel? I think all of this talk if just that - and behind the scenes the exit plan for Stan is moving along.....

To be fair, Stanley has carved out a role on the bench and been fairly effective there (+1.9, 9/4/1.5 on 52% TS). We just need someone who can actually take his spot in the starting lineup.

I'm not sure it's fair to say SJ has carved out any sort of defined roll. He's had some good games and some horrible games. That's not super unusual for a young player, but if he keeps that up, he'll have a hard time finding a rotation spot on most non-lotto teams. The market for inconsistent bench players isn't that great on the "potential" label starts to fade. eg if the pistons had a quality starting SF playing 35 mpg, do we keep SJ past his rookie deal? Probably not.
