Suns hired Igor Kokoskov as their new head coach yesterday. He's currently on Utah's staff and coached Slovenia to gold at EuroBasket last year.
He's held several coaching gigs over his career, including here in Detroit. He was a Pistons assistant from 2003-2008, the full terms of both Larry Brown and Flip Saunders. His hiring by Brown in 2003 coincided with Darko being drafted.
Nice hire by Phoenix. They didn't blindly follow the cookie-cutter coaching candidate list everyone seems to be putting out. Dude has a wealth of experience assisting successful coaches in the nba and has succeeded as a head coach in Europe. Too bad Gores didn't pull the trigger on SVG a month ago and look at this guy himself. We'll see if he can turn around that disaster in Phoenix.

Respect to Phoenix for not just looking for a treadmill coach.

Phoenix will probably fire him after 15 games
