Absolutely flip Blake for Derozan and not thinking twice about it.

The Pistons would, the Raptors would not even consider it. DeRozan is tremendously more valuable than Griffin.

If Toronto blows it up--and I doubt they will--DeRozan will be the very last to go.

If we are screwed on rebuilding for real anyways, toss Stanley / Kennard with contract filler (Leuer / Ish) for DeRozan.

Spacing would still be an absolute nightmare, but he fits age wise with Blake & Reggie. A Dre / Blake / DeRozan / Reggie core, try to add as much shooting around them as possible with the MLE / vet min contracts, hire a coach who'll actually stagger Dre & Blake's minutes, hope Lebron goes to the West and we can squeeze out an ECF or even Finals appearance before Philly takes over, Milwaukee figures it out around Giannis and Boston gets healthy / their youth develops.

That's about the only semi-realistic scenario for even fake contention with this group. Even then, it's still ridiculous.

Zach Lowe and Kevin Arnovitz ran down DeRozan trade options on Zach's last podcast. There's not a lot of obvious suitors. Given the uninspiring returns for PG13 (looks better now than it did) and Kyrie (looks worse now than it did), I think it's safe to say teams aren't exactly going to be lining up to give up premier young assets for DeRozan.

Blake for DeRozan makes zero sense. But a Kennard / Stanley package isn't that far off from what could be expected given traditional trade returns.

How about you actually attempt to add to a conversation instead of just throwing out snark? Give actual teams / returns that you think are realistic for a DeRozan trade instead of just being a useless idiot throwing shade.

A role player and a disappointing, expiring prospect will not get you a star, or anything near it. Kennard is not Oladipo, and Johnson is not Sabonis, and Pritchard was castigated for turning down larger offers in the name of sending George out of the conference. Kennard and Johnson is likewise nothing on the level of Zach Lavine and the 7th-overall pick, and that trade was made by a front office duo with a history of incompetence so thorough that it is universally hated by Bulls fans. Masai is no fool.

I applaud his bravery in revealing his issues. It doesn't change the fact he's come up short in big moments time and time again. One may have nothing to do with the other, or they might.

As for finding me offensive. Because I said "documented mental health issues" He came out and talked about it. Again, I applaud it. But it's certainly included in his evaluation as a player.

Obviously Toronto is under no edict to move him and wouldn't move him for something that doesn't make sense. But George / Butler / Kyrie are all just better than him and even they didn't get home run trade packages. He's a difficult player to build around, even though he "improved" from 3, 31% is still dreadful and was terrible against Cleveland.

And what other teams would offer is highly relevant. Again, Toronto is under no pressure to move him unless they just decide to blow it up, but the bigger hang up in an offer for him is Leuer's not being an expiring to make the money work IMO than the quality of Kennard / Stanley. If Masai wanted rebuilding pieces, he may certainly get a better offer, but the list of teams trying to win now in this climate with GSW and Lebron and who can accomodate his salary while giving up young players is short. For that reason, it's not likely he's dealt, but every year people say "stars don't get traded for that" and then every star trade is met with "wtf? that's all?!".

Toronto is going to get a new coach. They're not blowing it up.
