Re: Malik Rose
He was offered a front office role. Is that the new general manager? I'm not opposed to him. He won executive of the year in G League and we wanted a young guy for the front office. Good decision to bring him in.

Re: Malik Rose
Yeah, I suspect he's one of the "assistants".
Might be groomed for a proper GM role down the road.

Re: Malik Rose
after reading this I feel better about him: https://www.ridiculousupside.com/2018/6/9/17439012/76ers-should-consider-malik-rose-replace-bryan-colangelo-nba-g-league
I've wanted Chauncey but Rose has been paying his dues. Chauncey might best be fit for sticking with TV.

Re: Malik Rose
Its almost been a week since it was announced Rose was offered a "front office role." Not a peep since.
Did Malik quietly decline the offer in favor of staying in the G league? If so, that'd be a pretty depressing development into the state of affairs in the front office.

Re: Malik Rose
Seems like a solid hire, though I still really hate this "Ed is our GM after all so lets just find a bunch of assistants for him even though we originally said we were going to hire a GM" thing.

We're hiring folks so far down the foodchain you wouldn't give them whole GM gig. All the next-in-line types wouldn't take the job here given the situation(team locked in for next three years due to salaries and Gores wanting to keep them together to win now), so we're looking to identify candidates who one day could be GM's and bring them in with lesser roles.

I really like the hire, I think Malik could make a solid gm in the future.

Pretty sure the same will happen with Malik Rose. I think he got the promise to get the position and they just want to keep the team for now and see how things go later on. I really can't complain about the decisions the team is making for the office. It's just a matter of the players/personnel now

Re: Malik Rose
With his Atlanta ties I hope he can pull off a Reggie for Schroder swap. Schroder’s a younger and healthier alternative with more upside under Casey.

Malik “I’m the Assistant GM”
Ed “No you’re the assistant to the GM”

Right when Schroder wanted out earlier I was calling for this trade
It would be huge for us
Saves ATL a year's worth of salary, gives us a MUCH better defender than Reggie that has a chip on his shoulder with a lot to prove
Schroder would add a lot of grit to the Pistons and Rose's ATL connects could help facilitate a deal
I dont want another season to hinge on Reggie's health, we need a fully healthy PG and Drummond to see what the team is made of, note how i didnt mention Blake bc it's a given he is a gonna miss 20 games at least

Re: Malik Rose
Schroeder is a worse shooter, on the books longer, a cancer, and has off court issues.
No please.

Reginald's health is a concern but
Dennis is not a better defender than Reggie

+1
I feel the exact same about the Rose hire and the Ed is the GM dog and pony show.
