Not picking up Buyck's option enough to keep us under the tax? Is this one of those deals where the league picks up a lot of the money because the player is old as dust?
A solid 3rd point guard really though, started more than he should have of course last season.
Second go around here.

He looked pretty done in Cleveland last season. I think its good to have insurance at the PG spot but not sure he gets much burn for us unless there is an injury. Can still shoot the ball, can't defend at all anymore.

Yay! A one year deal!
If the offense flows though Griffin, this will help

I like this. Not gunna find many better 3rd PGs who have that kinda experience..and again only a one year deal.

Hopefully Seth Curry signs a much bigger deal elsewhere.

Ugh, I much rather just keep Buycks.
Calderon is cooked.

No kidding. I've been banging the drum for Seth since before the trade deadline.
Ed is proving very much Stan like in rushing to sign lower quality free agents.

Yeah but we basically got two expirings off the deals. Those are good contracts to be able to trade Galloway somehow. I think we're being creative so far with our signings. I want a trade!!

MANY free agents are signing 1 year deals. Which makes pre-existing expiring contracts not as attractive because there are more now. In addition, it also means there were more/better options for Detroit to sign. Buycks could have been viewed as an expiring as well.

just please don't include any more picks unless we're on the receiving end.

i like it, he's essentially an experienced third string PG that you never hope has to play but can run an offense if needed. obviously, hopefully reggie and ish stay healthy so jose never has to play but you could easily say that about any third string player.
calderon and GR3 are deep depth signings but the one thing they both bring is very good shooting from 3, which we know we're going to need with the griffin/drummond combo at 4/5.

True these are good points. But I believe expirings are valued because teams wouldn't sign players for 1-2 years if they didn't want the cap space later. Also if it's true that there are more expirings now then we should be able to trade for expirings in that case, goodbye Leuer and Galloway!
