Deyonta Davis waived by Sacto...

Was drafted (traded for) when Stefanski was in Memphis. Michigan State product.

We have no roster spot for him and no tax room anyways, but I would have otherwise liked to take a flyer on him.

We have one more roster spot open - only carrying 19. Would Davis take a 2-way deal? Wade Baldwin IV had to sign one with Portland, and Ulis is on a 10-day try out with Golden State.

I'd much rather have Davis than Hearn on our second 2-way deal. And with Leuer hurt and Blake injury prone we could offer a decent shot for his full amount of games allowed under 2-way deal.

Man, I'm just antsy for off-season to end.

I’d much rather have Davis than Zaza

Anything is better than Ellenson.

No. If the team is guaranteed to suck, let them suck. There’s no point in making roster moves to suck slightly less.

Maybe it's time for you, Snakebites, and the rest of them always crying face asses to just find a new team?

Nah. That's what bandwagon "I want what I want and I want it RIGHT NOW!" bitch ass fans do. It's nice to think there is always a move out there that will keep a team contending for a championship for 20 straight years, but those of us who understand today's NBA and players going to whichever team will give them the biggest paycheck understand that's not possible. Championship teams are built, not whipped up in a day. Putting perfume on a pile of s**t only makes it a less smelly pile of s**t. But hey--if believing in unicorns and a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow is your thing, have at it. I've been a Pistons fan since 1983 so I think I'll just stick with it.

Riding into the NBA as a one and done based on his athleticism was Davis' mistake. Even one more year of growing up while in a college system would have increased his chances of NBA success. Pretty likely the G league or international play is where he ends up. We already have a young project on the ropes with SJ so I wouldn't offer Davis more than a two way contract.

Would be very nice to get him on a 2-way deal if possible.

What's wrong with Deyonta Davis such that he was a throw-in in a trade, but waived months later?

Good athlete with no actual game at this point. Sac has a whole lot of developmental bigs already.

I'm not high on him, but realistically, that's the type of guy you want to pick up on a 2-way contract or 15th type contract. You want someone where you say "hey, they guy might be pretty good if he had spent another year or 2 in college." Then you stash him for a year and watch his progress. Even if you are wrong 80% of the time, that means you might find a cheep, young rotation player every 5 years or so for basically nothing. That's a much better strategy than grabbing some 26 yr old and thinking he might be able to give you spot minutes if 3 rotations guys get injured.

What a waist. He could be the 2x NCAA champ player of the year top 5 pick.

Poster child for the stupidity of the 1 and done rule.

Given our terrific depth at the position,we obviously had no use for a young, athletic power forward........

Plus we all know that Golden State is such a poor judge of talent

Already waived. Seems he was signed to be an "affiliate player" for their G-League team. Means any team could sign him to either a full roster deal or a 2-way I believe. He's also eligible for 10-day contracts in January.
