#Pistons Ed Stefanski: "Reggie is fully healed. We did an MRI a couple weeks ago. It was perfect. Now, it's just basketball shape...hoping to get him ready to go opening night."

#Pistons Stefanski: "Luke is fine; I don't know if he goes full contact this week. Same with Jon Leuer. Those three (including Jackson) are not in basketball shape."

Two important ones. Sounds like the injured guys are healthy now and its just a matter of getting back to game shape. Shouldnt be too much an issue between now and the start of the regular season.

The Drummond one should be easy as hell. Hes already #6 in the league 1.6, and to be top 5 he needs 1.8. He already has the second highest block percentage behind Gobert.

Andre has become quite fearsome down low over the years.

Shrug.

Now is always the time for unrelenting positivity and promises of improvement. I learned not to drink the late offseason Kool-aide over a decade ago.

Yeah it's pretty dead here lately but lots will come back once preseason starts.

Cynical isn't cool. I wish I wasn't so cynical about this team.

Cynicism and it being dead here are both caused by the team being bad for 10 years. They both have the same cause, one isn't causing the other.

Realism <> cynicism. If you think we are going to be a horrible team, that's cynicism. If you think the same basic squad is going to produce the same basic results, that' realism.....even if you are a bit salty about the reality of the situation. We've got enough talent to compete for home court advantage, but we could easily miss the playoffs is that talent is wearing suits for half the season.

This is reasonable. Its exactly where I'm at. This team could be really good, but that means reggie and Blake each play at least 70 games a piece.

What are the odds on that though?

*sigh* it's so weird to have two all-star big men on a team, and actual accept that there's a distinct possibility that your team may not even make the playoffs, and get yet another 9-13 pick.

HEALTHY HEALTHY TEAM. PLEASE.

Talent isn’t all it takes.

You also need team fit, and even more than that you need health.

We don’t have those and we aren’t in a position to add them.

25 teams in this league are clueless, so there's no need to be that negative about our team facing a fresh start.

at least the worst contracts we have ( Gallo, Leuer, Jackson ) will expire in 2020 and we'll be able to roll the dices soon.

Folks are pretty well sorted into their camps and the same old arguments get boring after a while. Things will pick up once there's something new to discuss. It will be nice to have some basketball played.

Agreed. We all know how everyone views the season overall, it's now going to be a game by game basis.

I really dont think anyone wants to sit thru another 33-39 win season though. Or at least I hope not.

This place used to have some real debbie downers that sucked the life out of everything. Brutal.

I’m expecting 50 wins.

I’ve expected 50 wins every year since I can remember.

I call BS - if Reggie is fully healed he would be a guarantee to be ready opening night. It's not like he put on fifty pounds in the past six months.......

And they've been right way WAY more than they've been wrong.

I'm sure that the cynics don't enjoy being right (because they would have bounced to another team a long time ago), that's just the way this cookie has been crumbling for the past 10 years. It's not their fault the Pistons are/have been bad, it just means that they have had a better (more realistic?) grasp of the situation than others.

The pistons are rightly being cautious. He's not 50 lbs overweight or anything, but the million stabilizing muscles haven't been used for quite a while. There is only so much you can do in a rehab room to prepare for game conditions. That's really a whole separate transition and one you don't want to rush.

These blurbs are very recent, but I didn't want to start a new thread and this one seems most fitting for them...

Ish Smith - G - Pistons

Pistons coach Dwane Casey intends to play Ish Smith alongside Reggie Jackson at times this season.

"I really liked Reggie and Ish together and it helps Reggie because he’s an excellent 3-point shooter," Casey said. "[I]t gives another ball-handler in the lineup. We’ll see that lineup some this year, with multiple point guards." This gives Smith's fantasy outlook a substantial boost, but he's still not a guy to target with R-Jax healthy and Blake Griffin dictating much of the offense.

Say Whut, Dwane?

Henry Ellenson - F - Pistons

Henry Ellenson is unlikely to be part of the Pistons rotation to start the season.

Ellenson, the 18th overall pick in the 2016 draft, has not lived up to expectations over his first two years in the league. He only played a combined 10 minutes over the Pistons last three preseason games. Zaza Pachulia and Jon Leuer will likely see most of the backup minutes up front. Coach Dwane Casey has also said he plans to go small at times, with Stanley Johnson or Glenn Robinson playing PF.

Just cut him already, he's nothing but a wasted roster spot.

Langston Galloway - G - Pistons

Langston Galloway is expected to see an increased role under new head coach Dwane Casey.

Galloway had a disappointing season in 2017-18. After signing a three-year, $21-million contract last summer, he appeared in 58 games averaged just 6.2 points in fewer than 15 minutes a night. However, averaged 26 minutes per game in the preseason and scored 15+ points twice. Still, Galloway isn't on the fantasy radar, as he'll have to fight for playing time with Stanley Johnson, Reggie Bullock, Luke Kennard and Glenn Robinson.

Not great to hear, but as long as they almost solely ask him to spot up then it might not be terrible.
