We're not going anywhere with Drummond and Reggie and that is a fact. It's been 3 years and we have 1 playoff sweep to show for it.
Time to reset by trading them and start again - give Blake some young wings who can shoot to play off and make him our starting Center

So who's a bigger real estate mogul in Drummond's head? Embiid or Valanciunas?

Reggie and Drummond would be totally fine next to Blake if we had Mitchell and/or Booker at the wings instead of this clown car filled with hot garbage.
If we're getting rid of Drummond and Reggie we'd better also get rid of Blake first, because nothing we get in return is going to make this team better than mediocre

Game against the Heat can't come soon enough. This team has a way of carrying "momentum" from losses, making it harder & harder to break out of a slump.
Fortunately, the eternal optimist in me sees a 4-game W streak coming our way.

Here’s a trade that works and helps us shed about 7m in cap space.
Drummond and Reggie for Kanter and Hardaway Jr

NYK is going all in on trying to get KD and possibly Kyrie. There's no way they want to tie up any money toward Dre who half shows up in the regular season and for dead knees Reggie.

We're stuck with this roster until Reggie becomes an expiring next season. We have no promising budget contracts to bundle up, and no cap space to play with.
We knew this coming into the season, but there was always that hope that RJ or Dre might rise to the occasion. So far, they are who we thought they were.

This roster isn't built to compete. Reality is that simly and that clear right now. Jackson has been flat out bad the last 4 games, and the wing play doesn't even need to be addressed at this point. Drummond shows up in roughly half of the games, too.
Just getting ahead of it before Casey starts getting blame for this team. He didn't build the roster. His predecessor did.
Sure the guy before him built the roster, but that doesn't mean that Casey should be absolved from criticism. From an individual player or overall team performance standpoint.
All of Drummond/Jackson/Bullock have taken noticeable steps backward so far this season. That's three of your core guys all playing much worse than last season.
Casey hasn't gotten anything extra out of Stanley/Ellenson/or Kennard.
I'm not sure we can attribute Blake's improvement from his Detroit tenure last season to the coaching change. Its tough to come in midseason trade and thrive, especially when you were the #1 option for both your old team and new team.
Really only Ish has improved this season.
Overall Detroit's offense looks downright elementary. Pistons are dead last in assists this season. Toronto was dead last in assists for the 16-17 season. Whats the common denominator here? That was the last time Casey was in charge of creating an offensive scheme. Last year when the offensive reigns were famously handed over to Nick Nurse, Toronto jumped all the way up to 6th in assists. Detroit was 15th in assists last season, creating a sizable drop this season.
Dwane Casey may not be one of the biggest problems in town, but he's not doing a good job either.
