Drummond for Otto Porter
Fair trade imo. Porter’s got more upside and is more of what this team needs than what Drummond brings. Drummond can be better for wizards than he is for pistons. Not gonna get Beal, and Wall makes more sense for them to trade over the summer.
Everyone that thinks Drummond’s stats are a reason to keep him need to realize his stats aren’t impacting the win/loss column. They’re empty. Otto will lockdown and solidify our wing position at the very least. This is just a bad year for him health wise. Same age, same contract. Both can benefit from a change of scenery.

Re: Drummond for Otto Porter
I think Griffin can play a good amount of minutes occasionally at center. Not sure if you want him there for a lot of minutes every night though. Losing Drummond and adding Porter hurts because the Pistons don't have a "big" that can step in at center for quality minutes every game.
As for just considering the deal itself... maybe? I hate that deal for Porter though. He's less impactful than Drummond even if you consider Andre's production as empty stats. Solid no doubt. But closer to meh than you'd like.

Yeah let's do it and after the trade we'll then have 2 above average starters on the whole roster. You know, kinda like we already have now. Going from 2 before the trade to 2 after the trade is going to make us so much better.

Good to see that I'm not the only one who think this is awful. Drummond if soft and has a low bbiq but he is good. He is frustrating tho, he could be so much more.

What about Jackson + Leuer + 2019 first for Otto Porter? I doubt we'd get a player as good as Otto in the draft.

Why are we sending Washington a Christmas present? What did they do for us?

Re: Drummond for Otto Porter
Well you're the OP, the burden of proof is actually on you. How about you explain how this is a good trade beyond Otto solidifying our wing position? What does that even mean? Like will we be able to throw him the ball and have him create for himself and others? Because if no, he'd just be the "Reggie Bullock on steroids" that he currently is. And we're getting that from Reggie for 10% of the price.DCintheD wrote:BadMofoPimp wrote:One of the most ridiculous trades I have seen here in a while.

Plus you want to trade an iron man with a contract you apparently don't care much for, for an admitted injury prone guy with the same contract and we still don't win more games? Acquiring Otto Porter makes us better. But subtracting Dre and adding Otto doesn't.

So let's dissect this.
Washington has John Wall who will make 40 mil+ at pg. Jackson is a pg making 16 mil that isn't earning that money.
I'm sure if they are on a team together that they will be best friends. Couldn't resist the sarcasm

Leuer is... Leuer. Negative trade value because of his contract.
And for the FRP you state above: "I doubt we'd get a player as good as Otto in the draft".
When coming up with a trade idea it's almost required to think about how the pieces fit for both sides.
I don't think you did this.

Yeah I didn't think through it enough to post it on the trades board or anything. I was more or less stating this is the 'type' of package I would trade for an overpaid but somewhat productive player.

Grass is always greener...
Porter puts up Reggie Bullock numbers and makes Andre Drummond money. And how does Porter "Have more upside?" Andre is younger!

Because to some Andre Drummond is the biggest disappointment the NBA has seen this side of Darko.BDM22 wrote:Grass is always greener...

Re: Drummond for Otto Porter
Drummond for Porter makes little sense unless there's more to it, like getting some 1st rd picks. Heard Dallas may be shopping Dennis Smith Jr. around, anyway we can score a trade for him?

Re: Drummond for Otto Porter
Drummond for Beal is the only sensible one since we need a star caliber SG like yesterday.
