How many Pistons have had better seasons than Blake?

Going through Piston history, how many players had an individual season for the Pistons better than Blake is having this season? Let's assume he stays healthy and they just miss the playoffs or get a first round bounce.

Just after a list of players, if they had multiple seasons better than Blake no need to list them.

Individually he might be the best from a all around talent point. Don’t think he has as strong of a impact as someone like Thomas or Billups but they had much better players with them.

Peak Grant Hill and peak Isiah. Never saw Isiah other than highlights and was pretty young during Grant’s time but they’re stats were insane

Grant Hill and Isiah Thomas both were bigger factors at times in their career, of course they had more talent around them I think, maybe not G Hill. Blake Griffin is carrying the team, he better be an all-star, not sure who is a better PF at this point, unless you count Lebron as a PF, he's the best scorer/board man and playmaker not to mention stretch 4 in the league, he brings the ball up the court half the time, the guy is really a better player than I thought he was after watching him, just wish he could get some help.

Grant Hill and Isiah Thomas were both obviously better.

1996-97 Grant Hill is the best season ever by a Piston that I've personally witnessed.

73-74 Bob Lanier looks possible on paper too given supporting cast, team success, and his own stats, though having never seen a minute of it I really can't speak to it.

He’s great individually, but I really don’t think his impact is as positive as it looks on paper. Some of that is Casey’s fault because the offense relies almost 100% on him. It’s the stand around and watch Blake show. The rest of the roster is pretty bad but it’s like they’ve never played basketball before when he leaves the game at this point. Like there’s no plan B for when he’s on the bench.

I like Blake, and if we had a different roster or the assets to make a big move I’d love to build around him, but if we don’t sell on him now it will set us back another 5 years.

Actually have thought to myself a few times this season how it feels like the teal era Pistons where you have a superstar player (Hill then Blake now) and very little around him.... I don't think Blake is going to be able to get this team out of the first round just like Hill wasn't able to... Blake is probably just good enough to keep this team on the front of the treadmill away from the back of the treadmill but never good enough to get us off it unless the GM puts some solid pieces around him.

Zeke (21/5/14), dave bing (27/6/5), Bob Lanier (26/14). Stack had that 30/5/4 season. Dumars had a 24/4 season while playing incredible defense. Going way back, Yardley had a 27/11 season in detroit.

Hope everyone is enjoying this because it's a pretty rare level of performance by blake.

Grant Hill had a 26/6/5 season, shooting 49% from the field in 99-00

So far this year Griffin has performed at a level that puts him among the Pistons' greats. He, like the others, is not without his faults. He gets tunnel vision with some regularity when he has the ball down low, which leads to turnovers and missing open shooters. Drummond shares this fault. I can't entirely stop holding my breath every time Griffin takes a spill. A healthy season would do a lot to secure him a positive Pistons legacy. Still foolishly watch, even though they have been disappointing for quite a while. ;-)

25.6 PPG 8.3 RPG 5.3 APG 48% FG - Blake Griffin 18-19

21.2 PPG 4.5 RPG 13.9 APG 46% FG All-NBA 1st Team - Isiah Thomas 84-85

23.5 PPG 4.0 RPG 1.9 APG 46% FG All-Defensive 1st Team/All-NBA 2nd Team - Joe Dumars 92-93

25.8 PPG 6.6 RPG 5.2 APG 49% FG All-NBA 2nd Team - Grant Hill 99-00

27.1 PPG 6.4 RPG 4.7 APG 44% FG All-NBA 1st Team - Dave Bing 67-68

25.7 PPG 14.2 RPG 3.1 APG 49% FG - Bob Lanier 71-72

Is Blake so far better than the best Season Grant Hill had? If yes only 4 other Pistons had better seasons. Isiah/Joe D/Bing/Lanier

Yes, but his 96-97 season was definitely superior to that even if the volume stays don’t jump out quite as much.

Blake is good but IMO not as good as his stats. Hill was better than his stats.

Jerry Stackhouse is a good comparison to what Blake has done with such a high usage and very little around him in 00-01, but Blake has been better.

Stackhouse was very inefficient and Blake is very efficient. Stackhouse had something like 25 shots per game to averange 30 ppg

This is when a competent owner/front office sells high.

Yeah, stack was a chucker, but 30 ppg is an accomplishment no matter how you slice it. The team sucked, but stack was doing that against double and triple teams every night.

Just looked up the roster and ugh. Anyone else remember when we were saying stuff like "Eric Montross looks great in practice. When is he going to put it together in a game?"

Yeah, Blake is better because he's more efficient. They are both extremely high usage with poor supporting casts, a sub-.500 record, and limited impact on the defensive side of the ball.

So I think it's a valid parallel to draw, even though I acknowledge Blake is better due to efficiency.

Don't get me wrong, I love Stackhouse, he was my hero, but I think Blake has been insane this season so far.

I

Yeah, hard to argue with that. Blake is beasting. I think some people forget how bad that 2001 team was offensively though. Ben and Curry starting? Stack was basically triple teamed from the jump. And that was when you could still hold and grab perimeter players. He was just abused every night and somehow kept filling it up.

Watching Blake out there just highlights how awful the rest of our team is. The talent discrepancy is very noticeable.
