1.5 out of 8th and 3 outta 6th seed. We got this. Right now we have the 10th pick in the draft.

I think you're gonna see some of those lower end west teams really start tanking soon.

This bizarre situation where every non playoff east team is worse than almost every non playoff west team won't last the whole season. The Mavs already look like they're tanking. That'd be rough- getting a worse pick than the team that has Luka Doncic and all of that promise.

Issue being they owe their pick to Atlanta with I think top 5 protection. Same with Memphis owning pick to Boston (Top 8, Top 6, Unprotected). Can they tank hard enough to activate the protection or do they tank just enough to send a 6OA pick to the owed team? Memphis wants to send their pick this season as the protections get lighter and lighter in the coming years. I don't think there is any way to out-tank the current bottom five -Cleveland, Chicago, New York, PHX, ATL out of those maybe only the Hawks are not overtly tanking, but they'll trade Lin, Dedmon and probably Bazemore by Feb 7th anyways. So Dallas tanking is just to increase their lotto odds and hope they get top 4 via via lotto.

With the flattened lotto odds the 6th worst record has a solid chance at amounting to a decent pick. 37.2% top 4 and 9% Zion is pretty damn good.

1.Zion
2.Morant(my 2 guy at least most have him 3)
3.Barrett

I'm happy landing any of these guys. Theirs going to be at least one or two more guys who shoot up the board around the combine. Motown likes a few other guys, other people will have some other guys they like. Top 6 isnt that bad.

Probably get another Drummond type flawed player and get infatuated with his potential, max him out, and then rinse repeat this cycle for the next five years. We don’t learn and somehow we think we’re that much better off than other incompetent front offices.

The Detroit Pistons are already tanking... they just are not trying to tank. That's the sad part of it.

Good night to watch a lot of the projected top 10 play. Zion, Barrett, Reddish, Keldon Johnson, Langford, Culver are all on action tonight on TV.

looks like we got the next hidden gem pg (Steph, Trae, Lillard, McCollum) right here down the street in Detroit

You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Got a short list of players would love to see the Pistons draft who could be around at 17... Despite our greatest needs at PG/Wing, Bruno Ferndando is my #1, this guy is a beast!

depending on who finishes higher between us and brooklyn, we're pretty much locked into the 16th or 17th pick.

simply looking at positions of need, jackson is our only PG under contract next season (the last year of his contract) and if we decline robinson's option (which we might) then we have no small forwards under contract. so those would definitely be the biggest areas of need going into the draft.

my hope is that darius garland falls to us kind of like how michael porter fell to the nuggets last draft, but i seriously doubt he falls out of the top 5. in the four full games he played, he averaged 20/5/3, shooting 53% from the field and 48% from 3 on 5.8 attempts. vanderbilt went 4-0 in those four games and then 5-23 after that.

his knee injury and his size are the two biggest knocks against him and he doesn't have the playmaking ability like trae young does to make up for his small stature, but he might be the most talented scorer entering the draft.

while there's a lot of talent in this draft there isn't much in the way of point guards which makes it a lot more likely we take the best SF prospect when our pick rolls around.

We're only a game up on Miami for 8th seed in the East. Not out of the woods their yet.

I'd take the 15th Pick and Milwaukee over 16th and Toronto or 17th and Philly.

A sweep is a sweep is a sweep.

Milwaukee and toronto look a little vulnerable right now with injuries (MIL) and chemistry (TOR). so yeah i'd rather finish 7th or 8th, get a higher pick and have a better chance at taking the series to six games or whatever. toronto specifically doesn't have a good matchup to defend blake or andre.

the good news is that brooklyn has the tiebreaker with us, we have the tiebreaker over miami unless we completely blow our upcoming games vs eastern conference opponents.
