ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Ellington’s agent Mark Bartelstein is working with the Suns on Ellington’s release from Phoenix to join a contending team.

Welp, we might have to settle for Ben McLemore or something.

Bullock trade would make more sense if we were landing a buyout guy like Ellington or Matthews and having them start for us... probably could only entice them to come to Detroit by offering a starting gig and a chance to make a playoff run and potentially wanting to resign them the following year. 95% of buyout guys choose to go to top 6 or 7 teams.

SVG paid buyout guys in expensive 3 or 4 year deals after 3 hours of free agency. At least now we can wait.

Mark Bartelstein's son works for the Pistons, so maybe we got an edge there.
Also Ellington could take 10 3's per game here if he wanted, this team after all is the worst 3pt shooting team in the league and traded one of the best 3pt shooters in the league to the Lakers.

Mark bartelsteins son was also on the Michigan 2013 national championship team.

his father also represents Jose Calderon, zaza pachulia and Jon leuer

Given how well the past clients have worked out here maybe we should pass.

Just give Bullocks minutes to Khyri, Kennard, and Svi. Ellington isn’t going to move the needle.

Yeah, hopefully he chooses elsewhere. We sold our 3rd best player for a late SRP and "prospect". No use still pretending we're trying to win now - play Kennard, Maker, Mykhailiuk, Brown, Thomas and even Ellenson and Whitehead all the PT the ROS. Leuer, Calderon, Galloway shouldn't see another minute.

Ellington is not coming here. Gores and the Pistons are delusional. Why get bought out to go to a team that's terrible? Makes no sense. Rather just stay in Pho.

Why would a league source tell Woj that Detroit was going to aggressively pursue Ellington? I mean why would that be tweetworthy news from the almighty Woj? I mean doesn't that "source" have to be Detroit or Ellington's agent? And if it's the latter why leak it? And if it's a Detroit source why would Woj even run with it like it's newsworthy? Only thing I could figure is that it's a done deal and Woj went with it to be first (eventually).

I hope another team steps up and gets him. I’m at a point where I’m cool with getting stauskas and just seeing what happens

Will any other team offer him the opportunity to start?

Wayne Ellington would be a solid starter. Better than Bullock for sure.
