Detroit Pistons (31-31) vs Minnesota (30-34) Wed 7PM

Timberwolves played last night and beat a good OKC team 131-120 in Minnesota. Towns put up 41 and 14 in just 30 minutes of play. He's been flat out killing it lately, especially from deep. He averages more points on back to back games than with any days of rest, and has been shooting over 50% from deep the last month. Tonight's game will largely depend on our ability to slow him down. I don't think ZaZa is going to be good tonight might have to try some Blake, Thon, or even Leuer at C in spurts when Dre is out.

On our end, two days rest after two good wins I think if we defend the three point line well we'll have a good chance to win.

The first meeting between the Pistons and Timberwolves required an overtime session. Detroit emerged with a 129-123 victory behind Griffin's 34 points. A 33-point outing by Minnesota guard Derrick Rose was wasted.

The Timberwolves were coached by Tom Thibodeau at the time. Ryan Saunders, son of former Pistons coach Flip Saunders, is now running the show but Minnesota continues to be plagued by defensive issues.

It ranks in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency since Saunders become head coach.

Wait, how did I miss Thibs not coaching anymore? That completely went past me. Did he step down as coach?

KAT has been playing out of his mind. Should be a good one.

He got a lot of bad press early this year and last year and is perceived as a major reason Butler wanted out. I’ve kind of been rooting for him to turn it around and it appears he’s starting to do that.

He’s also the sort of big that gives us problems with his range, so we’ll see how it goes.

An unfortunate pattern with Drummond is that he’s a lot less likely to show up the more formidable the center matchup is.

Incorrect on Towns. The Pistons have won the past 6(?)games against the wolves and Andre does exceptionally well against towns which leads me to believe that it's in his head with other similar types of players.

Andre is Kats daddy.

Game logs, and not only that Towns just cant contain Drummond at all.

7 game win streak against Minnesota as a matter of fact.

Glad to see that’s not the case with Towns specifically.

And I suppose it does make sense as Drummond’s struggles tend to come against better defenders. Embiid is of course the most famous example but he had a rough outing against Gobert too.

He tends to really feast on teams with weaker front courts, which isn’t even really a criticism as front courts in general are getting a lot weaker, giving him a niche to play well against many opponents. You also see teams like Indy who don’t have a terrible front court per se but don’t exactly have the imposing defender to man Drummond properly.

I love what they've been doing lately, but does anyone else get the sense they're going to take a sh^t tonight?

Huh? Can we just sum this up as Andre has good games and he has bad games. He's destroyed Gobert too. Don't backpedal the point then double down on it. He recently put up damn near 30 and 20 on the 2 headed monster of Mitchell Robinson and DeAndre Jordan. He feasts on good and bad centers/front courts. Even with 10 points Sunday his impact was the greatest on the team, probably on either team, and that was against Gasol.

Calm down. Not everything needs to be a battle.

As a matter of fact, andre is unbeaten against Kat, and this post sums it all up including that 3 andre hit in overtime against Kat;

Andre is Kats papa.

Yes. Clearly I was wrong. I didn’t remember this matchup well.

I’m not an Andre hater, not one of those people who thinks we should deal him for a bag of chips, and I never was.

Just think he’s a flawed player.

I didn't read about Butler complaining about KAT. Butler most definitely hated on Wiggins.

In that context, every player is a flawed player.
