New all black seats installed at Little Caesars - masking emptiness of arena?

Why black? No reason was given when the announcement was made. But many people believe it’s due to the numerous empty red seats being clearly visible on TV in those premium lower level middle sections. The black seat covers mask the emptiness of the arena on TV a lot better, as will the all black seats.

Theyre not going to flat out admit it, but that was obviously the reason. The sea of red was straight up embarrassing to see on TV. You still see it in the middle and upper deck since those are still only about 10% full for any given game, despite the streak.
I assume they are changing those out during the offseason.

Yeah those red seats stuck out like a sore thumb, makes sense to change them. At least the crowd has seemed to be a little better the past couple games, think Blake or someone even mentioned it post game recently. Hopefully fans are starting to buy in and we keep this momentum going into the playoffs.

Look like ****. But isn't this old news?
Neither Wings or Pistons primary colors are black.
Maybe Gores should try what the WWE does for their television and move all the crowd to one side and hard cam from the opposite -

Forcing black seats to hide lack of attendance is a band-aid solution and comes off lame as hell. I wonder if he used cheap prison labor to sew those new covers. Gores loves exploiting prisoners for his profit afterall.

Hopefully nothing is changing on that with how often the Pistons have been pushing the terrible black and gray "Motor City" jersey this year.

It's sad. Sad that there are so many empty seats in the first place; sad that such a knee-jerk reaction was made to re-do the seats, and to re-do them in black. Red was always the right color. It's the Red Wings' arena, after all. They could have/should have simply gone with a darker, duller shade of red, like at the Joe, instead of the bright candy apple red, and instead of black replacements.

Wow that is so embarrassing. Doing that would be far worse than changing the color of the seats.
