We had 2 really rough games against meaningful opponents and yeah that sucked but every team has some horrible games. MIL and GSW lost to PHX. It happens. Awesome bounce back win against the crap Lakers and TOR.

Drummond is a better clutch FT shooter than Blake.

play of the game by andre when he stole the pass for kawhi and led the fast break, he might be the only center in the league that can make that play. made it a two possession game under two minutes left.

great minutes by ish, blake/reggie/drummond carried the load even when guys weren't hitting shots. in the playoffs we'll need other guys to step up though. i know the raps have a lot of size/athleticism but i still thought kennard could have put up more shots. hopefully he learns that later in the shot clock it's better for him to just jack up a quick three because the alternative is almost definitely lower percentage.

not that we have many other options but i like reggie/ellington/griffin/drummond to finish the game with either kennard or galloway at SG. the lineups could have a little more size or athleticism from 1-3 but otherwise it's pretty well rounded and while there's no defensive stopper they still can defend enough.

this is going to be a rough five game stretch coming up, five road game, two of which are the second night of a back to back. beating cleveland and phoenix the next two games and taking one game against portland, golden state or denver would be a successful road trip imo.

Why did Kennard only have one shot in 20+ minutes?

They were playing him tight, but given what we've seen about his mental state, someone probably got in his head early and he was all too willing to play overly passive.

There were on him super tight. He couldn't get a shot off. He made some nice plays off the dribble though.

And that's EXACTLY why you don't just stand there and wait to get fouled with less than 5 seconds left, Blake.

Because the ball cannot stay in the air for 5 seconds. Now, if there are 1 or 2 seconds left, there is a possibility.

There were less than 5 seconds. Blake got fouled with 2.1 left, meaning he could have heaved the ball up at the 3 second point.

This is not a new concept; it has been done before.

When you say the ball can't stay in air for 5 seconds are you talking from a rules standpoint or physics?

Why risk the chance the other team catches the ball when it comes down with .5 seconds left, calls timeout then hits a miraculous shot.

Man I hate these early Sunday games, it looks like I missed a good game. It feels good to be 3-0 vs the raptors.

You mean rather than letting them foul and guaranteeing they'll get the ball back after the free throws? Not to mention that if you can't make a heave down the court that doesn't kill off 3 seconds in the air, you're not an NBA player.

So, we just went from less than 5 seconds to under 3 seconds. If there are 4 seconds left on the clock, no chance leaving it up to heaving the ball.

This is why just heaving it in the air is a bad idea.

Disagree. Based on how we played them, we have a better shot than at Philly or Mil. There should be more Piston fans for the playoffs. And I kind of liked the atmosphere, tbh.

You guys think Casey's familiarity with the Raps helped us against them this season?

Why not? Looks like they're the two and we're only a game ahead of the Nets at seven.

Pistons have a much easier schedule than BKN. The odds are that we finish at 6 but I guess anything is possible.
