Clippers comeback
If you missed it last night, and are looking for some inspiring basketball in the midst of our misery, go watch the 2ND Half of the Clips/Warriors game. The Clippers are reminiscent of our '04 team. Not as good obviously, but they play **** hard. Just a gritty, scrappy, no-quit team of dogs, with Montrezl Harrell playing a convincing Ben Wallace, Beverly as the ultimate ring-leader/****, and Lou Williams just catching fire. All things considered, it might be the most unreal comeback in sports history. No hyperbole. They were down by 31 halfway thru the 3rd quarter, and by 20 halfway thru the 4th. At Oracle.
They're not winning the series, and may even get swept the rest of the way, but that was great stuff. Easy team to root for.

Re: Clippers comeback
Like I said, I would have put much better odds on the Clips to beat the Warriors than the Pistons to beat the Bucks, regardless of Blake playing or not.

We don't have someone with the intensity and heart of Harrel nor the scoring mastery of sweet Lou. Not to mention Shamet who is looking like prime JJ Redick and is pretty much better than most rookies right now.

I’ve developed a respect for Blake after this season but there’s a reason why the clippers are doing much better without him. His style of play and dependence on him do not allow others to thrive.

Lou and Harrell were underrated. Add that with to their underrated depth at this point and they can fight with the best, they won’t win against GS obviously but they are a tough out.

Our players don't have any reason to be this motivated for these playoffs, they know we do not have any future with the current core as we are already capped out

The Clips won 6 games more than last year. Had they had a healthy Blake like we had for much of this season, they'd have probably gotten those 6 wins this year.
Does anyone think that the Clips will win another game?

Wish we would put together a team of scrappers and play-tough defense types. Fan base would get behind them so fast. Just a group of dudes that get in your face and fight hard

I thoroughly disagree. Griffin has proven to be highly flexible and versatile in his time as a Piston. He has been able to dominate and single handedly take over games but we actually played our best stretch of basketball when we were moving the ball and allowing others to contribute more while Griffin acted as a point forward. If you put Griffin on this Clippers team they would be just one big FA signing away from being a borderline contender.
Bradley/Gilgeous-Alexander
Williams/Shamet/Temple
Gallinari/Chandler
Griffin/Green
Harrell/Zubac
That team would be a giving GSW a run for their money

Honestly that's an interesting thought, healthy Blake with this Clippers team.

Griffin isn’t playing basketball right now. Not sure how he helps waiving the towel, taking up all their cap space.

After the towel gets waived could the Pistons sign it as a free agent?

I wanted Harrell back in the Grffin trade at the time. Wasn't that far-fetched back then. Damn. Love that guy's motor.

Re: Clippers comeback
clippers have more of a piston identity than the pistons do.
Pat Beverly and Harrell are the definition of pistons DNA.

How about we actually try to establish ANY sort of identity...?

We have one identity: our owner and the fat panic master he hired decided to build around Drummond and Jackson and you are watching the production.
