I love SVG, I would LOVE him to coach U of M. Wow this is great in my opinion! I think he would do wonders for the program. I still believe in him!

How did he do with the pistons players? Horrible.

SVG would probably make a better college coach than pro at this point. You can get away with the whole high pressure coaching thing for a while, but it burns guys out. College teams turn over so fast that it wouldn't be a major issue.

Anyway, sounds like complete speculation.

That honestly would be frightening as a MSU guy, he has a great and sound mind for basketball, just hear him talk on any podcast or interview. He knows Xs and Os and feel for the game far better than most people think.

I know he didn't work out well here but I blame primarily on the dual roles of Prez and Coach dynamic which hampered nearly everyone that has gotten those responsibilities not named Popovich.

Stugots is as rock solid as it comes with this kind of reporting. He’s almost always right and never trolling.

Billy Donovan has been in the mix too. He was eating some place in Ann Arbor with his wife today. According to tweets.

That's the NBA. He'd be coaching college players. They don't have the egos NBA players have, they just listen to the coach. SVG has a successful history coaching in college, .600 overall record.

SVG would be interesting if nothing else. But I think he loves coaching and is very good at it. Had Jackson not gotten injured, I think he would have had a different run with the Pistons. Regardless, he certainly could teach young players how to play the game.

Even before Jackson's injury, SVG probably had his best moment with Brandon Jennings running the team, he was playing at an all star level before he got injured. Can you imagine if he never gets injured? Jennings could hit 3's and he was such a good passer and was so much fun to watch him play.

This has been quoted absolutely nowhere else but this one site that not that many people even look at.

This is a nothing, I think.

It’s not the worst idea.

His loudmouth style would go further with student athletes that are held captive by the program.

His NBA experience might help recruiting.

But if he sticks to his ways of not playing rookies (freshman) big minutes, I’m sure that would turn off most talented recruits.

He has to play rookies because then he can't recruit them. If he doesn't play them, they won't develop. He won't win, he'll then get fired. I think he'll know what to do. NBA is very different than NCAAM and I really believe he knows that.

When Beilein's exit was announced my first joke was that the silver lining was SVG's availability. Somebody took it seriously?

Source is iffy, but Stan would be an amazing college coach. You don’t have to manage egos in college and you can be an authoritarian. In fact, the best college coaches are.
