I'm glad we drafted this French guy! We're very fortunate that he fell to us :)

You don’t get high ceiling without risking at 15. So it’s good.

I'm just happy they took him. It seems like a breath of fresh air for this franchise, the opposite of an SVG pick

No rush with him either cause he can grow as our backup 3 or 4 at his own pace for now.

This dude is a freak and only 18, he could grow another inch or two. I cant believe we got someone with as much potential as he has at 15.

You mean reaching on a 3 or D guy (never both) then immediately overpaying a role player who plays the same position?

Cool with the pick Ill take the high potential guy. Looks like his shot is buttery smooth.

One thing I didnt see on our needs list a whole lot was help so Blake can rest. This helps!

Really thought hed be gone. Im so happy. Was calling for Sekou or Bazley or trade back. What if we get Porter at #30. Dear lawd

Thanks man, I'll have to come to Detroit some day to see that! :)
Hope he will not bust, but he seems to be a hard worker.

Pick of the first round (outside the obvious top three).

Know nothing about him, just did some quick reading, seems we made the right pick!

LOVE this pick.

That said this guy is going to need a lot of development, which historically Detroit hasn't excelled at. The brass and coaching staff is going to have to give this guy some opportunities and allow him to take his lumps and work through them because there will be a lot of them.

https://www.thestepien.com/2019/06/18/sekou-doumbouya-scouting-report/

Pretty good scouting report on Sekou. Lot of work to be done still, and not a guy with crazy upside on offense (basically just going to be a spot-up shooter, not a guy who creates shots), but he's got pretty nice potential on defense.
