MLE signings
These 4 seem to be the likeliest guys that can be had with our MLE. Who do you prefer?

Re: MLE signings
I think Beverly will get more than MLE.
Ariza goes to a contender.
Rose is gonna miss 20 games maybe even more.
I think its Seth Curry or Collinson.

Re: MLE signings
If we could get Collison for it then I would be pretty happy with that route. Then try to cash is on Reggies expiring whenever possible.

Re: MLE signings
My thought is offer the full MLE to guys actually worth the money, if they dont take it whatever, move on and be patient with value signings later in free agency. Please no more offering big contracts to fringe NBA players...

Re: MLE signings
I don't give Seth the full MLE. I voted Beverly if he'd take it. I wouldn't offer Ariza that money either now with Snell here for $12M - that money needs to be our starter or behind a rookie contract starter.
Also this has to be under the assumption we trade Galloway for a big, because otherwise I think we need to split our MLE because we have only Thon Maker as our rostered back-up Big and nobody other than two-way contract Bone backing up Reggie Jackson.
I think RFA Tyus Jones could possibly be poached from Minnesota if they get DAR and have tax concerns.

Who ever we get in free agency I just hope it's not more than a 2 year deal.

Seth is the perfect compliment to Blake. He can play off ball and will create space for Blake. I’d take him over all of those guys.

The Pistons cannot get Ariza or Beverley with the MLE.

I watched a few blazers games and Seth Curry didnt look very good. One game he seemed like a solid player against the Warriors in the playoffs but the others nothing special.
Hopefully he gets paid less than full MLE. Seems like another Leur situation with a guy who barely plays alright one season getting a long contract and has little worth.

In terms of their games and culture, I'd pick beverly. I doubt he's interested though.

I'd be fine with Beverley or Ariza. Rose would be risky but could be the best of them. I would puke if we sign Seth Curry. He is an undersized SG and he is not good.

Beverley is 3 and D as a point guard. That’s super valuable.
He can get MLE with a contender or more with someone who has space and strikes out with bigger names.
Ariza will most likely sign with a contender, he’s not taking the MLE to play for a mediocre fringe playoff team.
Curry is realistic for the MLE, unfortunately. Pray it’s one or 2 years.

Re: MLE signings
I can see Ariza going to the Lakers or GSW. He's getting old and I'm sure just wants to ride out a good bench somewhere while winning. I don't see him coming here.
Same with Beverly too, he's more likely to go home to Chicago than here...
Really, our crop of players are the Collisons, Roses, and Lins of the world. If only they were a few years younger...

Yeah I assume LA since he’s from there and will have a chance to play for a contender.

Not a lot of teams have the MLE. A lot have cap space, which they would prefere using on highest tier players and a lot who don't have cap space have a lesser versions of the MLE than us. Even less teams have a need for PGs.
But only takes one with the MLE or more to be interested in Beverley, so you're probably right, he should get more than the MLE, I would be fine if we sign him for the MLE. I would be disgruntled if we pay 9+ mil per year for Seth Curry. Like I said, he is awful. A much worse version of Kennard.
Rose could be interesting, and we have connections with him. I think we bring Ish back and use the MLE in another position tho, not on Beverley or Rose.

Re: MLE signings
I mean, Curry isn't awful. He's a legitimate ++ shooter. Unfortunately Detroit is more than set at the two with few enough minutes to go around for all the guys they need to get playing time now. Seth definitely isn't a point/facilitator so I don't see the real fit.
Out of that list I don't think the Pistons end up with any of them. Beverly should have plenty of other suitors. I'm thinking more along the lines of McConnell. Maybe Mudiay if they think an offer from New York won't be matched or it comes late enough in free agency that waiting a couple days won't be a problem. Same goes for Satorasnky.
Hopefully not Payton.

Re: MLE signings
Honestly, this isn’t going to be a fundamentally different team next year, so I don’t care who we acquire as long as there are no deals expiring after Drummond’s added to the payroll. This means 2 year deals or less.
That’s it. Overpay if you want. Get the guy you want. Just don’t impact our long term cap. We all know what next season will look like. We’ve already seen it. I’m already looking with vague hope 2-3 years down the road as the current group expires itself out. Ultimately the same logic applies to trades.
Big picture, nothing really matters until then, nothing that impacts the team in the next 2 years that doesn’t have effects beyond that matters, good or bad. Just don’t screw with the future. We’re seeing teams like the Bulls, Hawks, Mavs , etc in varying stages of ground-up rebuilds. That’s where we need to be. It’s not a guarantee, teams do fail at it, but it’s what we have.
I hope the Pistons don’t take even that away by dealing picks, taking long term money, extending/resigning guys, etc. If that happens I’ll be in dire straits as an active fan.

Re: MLE signings
Not sure what his market value is right now but...what about signing Isaiah Thomas? He's had two years to get right health-wise and could come back strong if given the opportunity. Might be worth the risk for the next 2 years assuming we keep Griffin trying to 'win now'
