Would probably be if we promise him chance to start? Use bird rights for Ish and stay under luxury tax after using full MLE on Rose. Or use BAE on backup PG.
Trade Galloway and/or RJ either together or separately for SF and backup C?

wonder if it would be full MLE and wonder what the time frame would be.

He was really solid last year, with 18PPG shot well from deep. I wonder if this upcoming year could be even better if he stays healthy. He is still only 30 and he most likely would be given the chance to compete for the starting gig.... shouldn't be hard to beat out Reggie.

Didnt Tellum use to be his agent?

Now trade 1 year of RJ for 2 years of Fournier.

I can get behind this. Rose probably has the most upside "now" potential to add for the MLE. Arn Tellem was his agent before he quit the business to come to the Pistons. And Rose has always been a mid-West guy with the Bulls and then Minnesota so maybe the coasts are not a draw to him.

Rose would also fit with Griff having a superstar mentality.

Also I think it fits with Reggie for the season as Rose can play alongside Reggie (turstile defense from both though) and Rose can be a heater scorer off the bench and at MLE money it doesn't prevent Reggie from being re-signed - so keeps the hope alive for Jackson.

Gotta trade Galloway for a big though. I don't want Maker to be our primary PF and Ce back-up with only vet minimum back-up elsewise.

Rose is injury prose, as is Jackson of course. Will need a third stringer we are confortable giving back-up minutes to should we "load manage" Reggie and Rose during the season.

I think Isola is seen as a bit of a hack by NY fans.

Rose shot 40-80 from three for the months of November and December, then promptly shot 5-40 from three for the rest of the season (13%).

Yeah, this is basically my take on it.

I worry its a full 4 year MLE contract though. The Detroit tax is real.

If he is going to improve on what he did over the past year and be our starter moving forward 4 years at MLE is fine. I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a shorter contract tho because he likely still believes he can get a much bigger contract if he has a good year in Detroit. I'd guess a 1+1 deal for Rose is possible with him having an option in year two.

I worry its a full 4 year MLE contract though. The Detroit tax is real.

That would be the concern, that we’d be landing him because we’re the only ones offering longer security.

3 years wouldn’t be a disaster, mind you, especially if he plays well. 4 years is a no-go for me though.

It also does seem likely he’d start for us, which makes shopping Reggie a possibility. Of course, we’d need another PG if we did that.

We really need to take this with a grain of salt though. The source doesn’t seem super credible.
