Are we ever going to hire a GM?

Media day is always kind of exciting. Even with zero expectations for the season, it's nice that the season is here.

They slid Stefanski into that role on the sly after striking out on other candidates.

Gores more or less acknowledged that.

Beyond Chauncey, were there any other candidates that were mentioned publicly?

Shane Battier and Trajan Langdon. Both turned us down.

Watch on YouTube

Full media day coverage. Every press interview.

Stefanski
Casey
Blake
Drummond
Rose
Johnson
Snell
RJ
Morris

* Most impressionable takeaway - they definitely plan on playing Rose (at least some) with the first unit and sliding RJ to the 2. Was mentioned by 3 or 4 people.

Of course. Our best lineup is going to be Jackson/Rose/Kennard/Griffin/Drummond

* Second most impressionable takeaway - Kennard will be running with the 2nd unit.

Hard to get excited for mediocrity.

Welp, the sooner it starts, the sooner it's over, the sooner the blowup can happen.

Silver lining and all.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. In my case I don't comment much anymore because the constant griping, negativity, and hopelessness takes the pleasure out it. I expect to be mocked for making this comment. I like some of the things the Pistons have done, and hold out hope for growth and improvement. Looking forward to the season starting. I'm thinking I might buy League Pass again this year as one of my favorite things is watching NBA basketball. I stopped it thinking that between ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV there's plenty on, but I get tired of watching Boston, the Lakers, and GS all the time.
