I would rather have Eric Moreland than Joe Johnson.Pistons have a hard on for Joe Johnson it does not matter what wood does LOL .We need a strong back up center that's Eric and he's 10 years younger.Eric Moreland=Rick Mahorn

I think you are missing the point kellmellus. The Pistons already have too many players and have to pare down the roster by one; many believing that the choice is between Joe Johnson and Christian Wood.

So if you are trying to justify bringing Moreland back, you need to explain how he is better than both of those players.

Potatoaim is right. Wood is just a far superior version of Moreland; bringing the same strengths as EM + some offensive game to boot. Wood is also 3 years younger than Moreland if you are worried about age.

I think you are missing the point wood is not making the team so we have to move on from him,The coach said johnson picked the pistons out of 10 teams, so it would would hard to cut him.Meaning wood is gone. Wood is better than moreland but moreland is better than johnson.

The NBA is a business. It would be very foolish to choose Johnson over Wood just because he chose us. If 9 other teams are interested then he will get another job. Or he could just resign with us later in the season if we make a trade that frees up a spot.

So let me get this straight.

1. You open a thread about how we should pick up Eric Moreland because he's better than Joe Johnson.

2. People reply saying that Christian Wood is way better than Eric Moreland.

3. You say they aren't keeping Wood because they are keeping Joe Johnson.

What on earth are you even talking about? Why start this thread pointing out #1 if you don't think JJ is going to be let go?

The pistons won't be claiming anyone. Even if we didn't already have to pair down the roster ourselves, any additional contracts are going to push us into luxury tax territory.

Is iso Joe is so good, after we cut him he should have no problem sticking with someone. Maybe Lebron wants another washed up vet.

Moreland's not better than Thon if we have to eat Thon's contract when we let him go. Even then I'm not so sure. (Thon's better offense vs Moreland's better rebounding, etc)

Moreland is proof that being active and engaged doesn't always equate to being effective.

Cutting Johnson is the only thing that makes sense. If they were serious about trading Khyri, they should have played him during the preseason and let teams have a look at him. They should have done this anyway. Dummies.

Should we be celebrating that the front office of the Detroit Pistons finally did something obvious? I mean sure, cool, but get back to me when this isn't followed up by something idiotic.

I have no faith in ownership or the front office.

I'd just cut JJ.

He had a shot and didn't really show enough to say his career isn't over. Thomas hasn't impressed, but at least he's still young.

But yeah, there's no way Wood was being cut. If you cut him after this preseason then there was no point in signing him anyway. You were going to cut him no matter what happened.

Khyri is probably gone, we're not giving him any minutes during the pre season.

Woods is safe. Sweet.

I get the sense we have one quasi major trade and maybe one minor.

I tend to believe we either get Beal (doubt) or Lowry (more likely) with beal getting 3 1's and players , but more likely Lowry and 2 1's.

that's a high price to pay for lowry.

Hire Iso Joe as an assistant if you want him. No reason to pay someone to wash his uniform 82 times.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
