(Game 4) Pacers 0-2 @ Pistons 1-2

Duncan Smith

When Tim Frazier and Bruce Brown are ON and Luke Kennard is OFF, the Pistons have an offensive rating of 62.5. Never again.

Rod Beard

Pistons Reggie Jackson (lower-back tightness) is listed as doubtful for tomorrow vs. #Pacers. If he can't go, there could be yet another change in the starting lineup. My best guess would be Luke Kennard in there somewhere.

Man i hope Casey doesn't try to put out that much lack of talent in the starting lineup again.

Luke needs to be starting as hes our best prospect and looks like hes ready for the next step.

I want to see Galloway start and put Bruce at starting point. I really like Luke and Rose providing the second team offense.

End the madness and just start Rose and Kennard! and then keep them there for the whole season. It's not rocket science.

I agree with that. D.Rose is too good to not start. He is the best player of your team. Just give him the keys as starting pg. He seems in excellent condition

It's painfully obvious at this point that they both should be starting.

If your one to complain about the bench not having enough punch if this move is made, then direct that to the front office so they can make some moves to upgrade it.

Rose is the better player, pretty good margin.

Kennard is the better player, huge margin.

It's just that simple.

Brown shouldnt really even be playing anything other than spot minutes at this point. His O is obviously a disaster and his D doesnt make up for it. Not even close. Start Rose/Kennard.

Id also like to see Svi get some minutes over Brown because at least he has some semblance of an offensive game.

Rose is on a permanent minutes cap. He's just not a guy you can run for big minutes anymore. I'd much rather have him finishing than starting.

Hopefully, a shooter moves into the starting lineup though. Luke's obviously the better long term prospect, but LG would even be an improvement.

Think that Casey is simply stubbornly trying to make Brown into something he will never be.

This!

Not just on a game by game basis, but I'd much rather have Rose finishing the season than starting the season. Too many people lose sight that the NBA season is a marathon, not a sprint. Rose absolutely needs to be managed in order for him to sustain the caliber of play he's currently at.

I’m not willing to decide on what a second year players full potential can or cannot be but i wouldn’t mind reducing his role and letting him develop off the bench.

Exactly. Bruce is 1 season + 3 games into his career. He's a 20 MPG player, some people act like this guy has played 30 + minutes a night for several seasons. I guess people like to pick and choose who they will lend developmental rope to and how much.

As for starting vs bench role, IMO Bruce is a better option to start when Blake is in the lineup. Without Blake there is a lot less need for offense, but a higher need for defense in that starting unit. This also allows Luke to play the majority of his minutes without Blake on the floor with him. Its been proven time & again that for whatever reason Kennard is MUCH better without Blake in the lineup and isn't nearly as hesitant.

With Blake out for now, it makes more sense to Bring Bruce off the bench. Whether it is Reggie or Frazier starting at PG , there just isn't enough offense in the unit. With Blake out, the only way it could make sense to start Bruce is if they start him at PG. However, even with that Bruce isn't ready for that role yet, and there wouldn't be enough secondary ball handlers and facilitators in the lineup.

I just read the starting guards will be Frazier and Kennard.

Either combo makes more sense than Frazier/Brown.

If we are dead set on developing Brown he needs to be playing the point and develop there.

Some folks are scorers and some are not. He may develope, but I wouldn't bet on it.
