In a year where all are bad news for the Pistons, there are only 2 positive things: Wood and Svi.
The Ukrainian guy is proving that he can be one of the important pieces for the Pistons future:
- He is a very good 3 point shooter with very good % even though his shot selection is more than questionable.
- He is a good passer and favors the style Casey wants.
- Cheap contract for the next 2 years
On the other hand:
- He got real issues to finish above the rim
- He has legs to defend but take questionable decisions
- No mid-range game (he is not even trying)
We have reasons to be optimistic about his future.

Ahhh yes, You know desperation has set in when your teams bright spot is the 7th man.

Shouldn't we be happy the guy is performing well?
Same for Bone & Sekou in the G League?
Same for Wood, Brown & Luke?
That's 6 guys here next season I actually want to see get playing time...
Small victories are better than none

I appreciate the incremental growth from the role players. I just feel like we’re overdue for a home run draft pick.
Hopefully we can be excited about a player that could potentially be an all-nba first teamer and lead the team to some playoff wins.

He's a catch-and-shoot guy with limited playmaking potential and near-zero ability to score at the basket. Aside from shooting threes, his single strength is as a transition scorer.
He'll top off at bench shooter. Valuable, but very limited.

Svi is a decent prospect. He is a pretty good but streaky shooter. He has some flair to his game and I like his competitiveness. On the flip side, he can't do much outside of shooting. He is very limited on drives and in the mid-range. He has short arms and isn't all that athletic. Overall, I like that we are letting him play as we need to develop as many guys as possible to see if we can turn anyone into contributers for a championship-level team.

Svi isn't a "prospect". His ceiling is basically doing this in more minutes.
Now Wood has potential. Not sure if he has the dedication or IQ to be great, but he's got all the physical tools and skills you could ask for in a big.

We should sign Wood to the mid-exception and then let him be a focal point of the offense. I wouldn't be shocked if he could push 18 and 9 on good shooting. He has the mentality to be a go-to scorer in this league. He wants to take the shots and he has shown efficiency so far.

Yeah, Svi is okay. Not a guy who brings hope to a franchise.
