Thread for trade deadline 2020!

Let's get this new year started off right!
Blake+Galloway for Paul+NoelI'd much rather watch Paul lead this team instead of watching Blake limping around. His competitive fire would be great for Dre since we all know Gores will be gifting him a shiny new 5yr contract this summer. Noel Wood Sekou are nice young pieces next to Dre moving forward.
OKC brings their hometown hero to Oklahoma. They can shut him down for the year and tank and get him ready for next year. They're winning too much with Paul.
-OR-
Blake+Kieff+SVI+Kyrie for Whiteside+Collins+Hood+LittleThis could happen if Blake shows hes healthy by deadline. Portland goes all in once Nurkic gets healthy as well
-AND THEN-
RJ+Snell+lotto protected 2020pick for DeRozan. .
Edit: these are all Gores ideas

Our new 2020-21 team is;
Dre Noel
Wood Sekou
DeRozan SVI
Luke Brown
Paul Rose
-OR-
Dre Wood
Collins Sekou
Derozan Little
Luke
Paul Rose

Both Horrible. So Gores would probably do them.

The POR package is easily the best one but we def would have to include a future 1st maybe even our 2nds to even get the convo started. That's how bad Blake's contract value is at right now.
But I can see coked up Gores making some desperate trade for Derozan and calling Dre, DDR, and Blake our big 3 in some stupid press conference.

Don’t even joke about more “win now” moves that include picks/young promising players going out the door. Totally not cool, man.

It's not me it's our amazing owners idea!

Portland not interested in Blake Griffin. Too much risk.

I don’t blame Portland. They’re already squandering Dame & CJs primes. It would be a real shame to have an injured Blake be an anchor in their salary cap.

I don’t agree Portland is squandering Lillards prime. The Blazers are down 3/5 starters for most of the year.
Not many teams can overcome that.

I just meant that they haven’t found the right ground of players to surround him to make themselves true contenders. With a superstar like Dame and another high level player like CJ, I’d like to see them be closer to contention as long as they’ve had that core. I’d hate to see gimpy Blake handicap their flexibility.

Portland lost Harkless and Aminu so their D on the wing suffers big time. Nurkic being out hurts, Hood going down...
They're not doing much this year and with the way Blake has played no one is going to be interested in dealing for him

This team is broken on every angle. There isn't one trade to fix the team, they're gonna have to get crazy to get out of this mess. The best thing to do is to do nothing and let everyone walk. Start over, sign solid contracts like Derrick Rose's. You sit Blake down for the year and let him heal. The biggest decision to make is what you do with Andre Drummond. I'd rather extend him than lose him for nothing. The first player to get traded will be Galloway. Him and Rose are our best trade assets. I'd rather keep Rose and trade Galloway for a FRP or someone young.

Galloway should be traded but I doubt any team is giving up a first for a expiring rental shooter.

The only way to get picks from our expiring contracts is to take back longer term deals. That's a hard pill to swallow for those hoping for a quick rebuild, but it's probably the best option. And the picks shouldn't even be for next year. You want the pieces to come together at the same time. If we draft well, we'll have 2 good young players 3 years from now and a couple extra lower picks to go along with cap space.

Drummond to Kings x Dedmon + Bogdanovic (sending Bogdanovic to a 3rd team for a 1st)
Blake + Frazier to Knicks x Randle + Smith Jr + Payton
Rose + Morris to Lakers x Kuzma + Bradley (sending Bradley to 3rd team for one or 2 seconds)
Jackson + Galloway + Maker to Heat x Waiters + Johnson + 1st + Okpala

Dre isn’t going to go for an extension. He’s 26 years old and based on what he clearly thinks about his value, he wants to get that monster contract—6-7 years at max or near max. I can live with another year if he takes the PO, but I don’t think he will, and he shouldn’t. Who at 26 and at the top of their game (stats wise, anyway) would take a one year deal for ANY amount vs a 5/6/7 year deal for somewhere in the ball park of $150 million?

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
Dre's current contract is one that benefited greatly in terms of timing. It was one of the last times a team paid big dollars for a big that can't stretch the floor. I can't really point to a player with a similar skill set making the same money where that contract is actually viewed as a good thing (e.g. Steven Adams).
I just don't see any takers for a 30 million/yr deal. I don't even really see them at 25 million/yr. I've said before that 20 per is where I would probably top out at (and I'd still question that a little). If I'm accurate then I definitely see a world where he decides to opt in and take the 28 million that he wouldn't otherwise get in the open market.

1 year at $28 mil vs minimum $20 mil per for another 5 years?
He should take the longer deal every time cause the way the game is going that $20 mil per will fall.
Atlanta, New York or Charlotte might/will have the space to get after him. I hope he bolts and forces Gores into a total rebuild

Who knows what dre will get. It only takes 1 team to offer him a monster deal. Randle got $18 million from the knicks but Jordan only got $10. Val got $15. Lopez got $13. Vuc got $25 though and Horford got $28.

I could see the Hawks paying up for him or maybe even the Knicks seeing as hes from that area.

The Pistons have lost nine of their last 11 and look to be fading from any playoff consideration, though the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference — where the Pistons finished last season — still is a possibility.
Gores, for what it’s worth, doesn’t want to settle for another mediocre season and admitted that with the trade deadline approaching on Feb. 6, he and the team executives would assess where they are and whether it’s time to move in a different direction, such as looking to trade some of their key players to move toward a restart.
“Well, we have to look at everything because we're not winning, so you're not winning, to me, you have to assess everything. I think anybody would want to do that,” he said. “And probably in the next month or so, we're going to get together as an organization and just discuss things.”
He might finally be getting it
